a late appreciation of Filk

I just read something that made me see an aspect of Filk I've always appreciated but never acknowledged because it didn't consciously occur to me: We* make music for the music's sake, or the story's sake, but we don't wear it like a "sexy Halloween costume" (I've heard of attempts, in my experience they are an exception.)

I'm sure the music in you is not lost forever, but only temporarily mislaid, and will probably turn up one day when you least expect it.

I wouldn't count on it. I just don't vibrate anymore, the accoustic is gone. I've accepted it, it has its perks.
