Boah!!!
It probably is a cultural thing, it certainly doesn't seem to be a difference between our psychological dispositions, but your tale left me both in awe and somewhat dumbfounded:
why did you (all) stay so polite so long?
You stress the politeness of the approach throughout the tale, almost as if being polite normally is (or ought to have been) rewarded with compliance by the person spoken to.
I’m in all probability a philistine, my ethical grounds are certainly a bit marshy, and I am definatelty a foreigner, all of which may add to my curiosity.
Hence my questions: What is the importance of politeness for you? And what is the expected effect of it?
Feel free to ignore me. I am aware that this is a strange and barely empathic response to the heart felt frustration you were expressing in your post.
Inaccessible physiotherapists sounds like the plot of a Mister Bean act.It would be funny if it was not so frustrating for people who need their services.
Being polite to scare medical professionals people your loved ones are depending on is probably what I would have chosen to be too. I suck at being dependent. We hatesen it.
