So, happy birthday to me, it is 8.35 and i am on the train to an Essex magistrates court (for work experience, not looting, bien sur). The glamour of my life, let me show you it.

This is the fifth week of shadowing I've done, and while it's been valuable, I'm starting to feel tired - every day a new person, info repeated ad nauseam, cheeks aching ( Read more... )

Thank you, sweetie! It was a long day, but I had a lovely supper in the evening with family and godparents and the boy, so that made up for it. ♥

Southend! You were in my neck of the woods! Happy Birthday, I hope the Essex weather was ok, and that the rest of your day was good. I'm glad work experience is going well, how much longer are you doing it for?

AHHHH The Hour I love it so but I haven't seen it all yet, suffice to say that the cast are stupidly talented and attractive, and anything that has spies plus BBC journalists in it = gold. You're right, it's not entirely clear what it is, but I admire Abi Morgan for trying to make it more than your average drama. Oh god, please recommission it Beeb!

ALSO NEW DOCTOR WHO NEXT WEEK! Oh god I get to see it at the time of transmission for the first time in a year, happy times!

NO WAI! The Essex weather was horrid on Thursday, unfortunately - decided to pop into November for the day - but yesterday (Basildon and back to Southend) was very beautiful. And you'll be pleased to know that the Southend Magistrates Court is officially the nicest court in terms of staff and cafe. So, well done your neck of the woods!

As for the work experience, next week is my last week of it. Glad to be over, I think, although it has been unbelievably valuable.

But WHERE ARE YOU CARMEN SANDIAGO? I've sort of lost track, I'm afraid. Are you back in Blighty???

DOCTOR WHO I CANNOT WAIT OMG OMG OMG.

I am back in the UK, arrived on the Eurostar about 2 weeks ago, and I have 2 weeks before I head back to NZ to work, watch the rugby and see friends again :D

It was lovely on Friday wasn't it - felt very odd to see the estuary again and walk around Southend high street. Nothing and so much has changed in a year, I don't really know what to feel about it all. Basildon is actually my hometown, but I went to school in Southend/Westcliff for most of my childhood, so that counts as my area too. What are you up to after the work experience is over?

PTERODACTYLS AND PYRAMIDS AND RORY PUNCHING HITLER AND AMY WITH A KATANA AND THE DOCTOR IN A TOP HAT! Cannot wait to have my head blown off by Moffat's madness, woo!
