I need a bigger pic. It isnt a norway rat but it might be a black(roof) rat. Mice normaly have bigger ears. And the black rat has a tail thats longer then their body.
Seen those around my house back when I lived in Ogden. Real mice, not voles...Not too bad when they just stumble into your yard, but when they get into your house, they do make a mess...you are nicer than I am....I don't know if it would made it off the property alive...Neighbors had a wood pile with rats in it for awhile...once in awhile we'd find a dead one...
Maybe I shouldn't show you the pic of the nice pair of grouse I shot the last time I seriously went bird hunting...LOL.
Roaches. Hate'em. Am not arachniphobic, so I only kill spiders stupid enough to get in the way. But I have been known to gleefully pour hot water down a fireant mound. And although I really try to use other methods to control mice, like ultrasound devices, I have happily set traps after I saw what sort of havoc they were causing.
This spring, we kept the back door open (with screen) open nearly all the time and so spiders wandered in quite a lot, but they must live to kill any other bugs taht might've wandered in too. Now the weather's too warm.

I've had hooded rats as pets and I like rats, but wild rats scare me! Those rascals are always the bad guys in the movies.
