Hong Kong.
As the cold grey dawn filtered through his bedroom window, Feilong couldn't help but let out another long indrawn sigh of frustration. Another night had passed and his adopted son was still missing. He couldn't help it if he was terribly worried about his baby. It turned out that yet again the search for his missing boy hadn't been successful. And for being an influential man with his position of power as the lord of all the crime syndicates here in Hong Kong, he surprisingly wondered why he was finding the said task harder to accomplish. He was still unbelievably having this much trouble finding his son, and why he just couldn't locate the one person that he wanted to find? Looking all over town for days now had turned the same result as just like another previously failed search, and even with his hundreds of men hadn't been able to even spot his son or at least find out any clues that would eventually lead to Tao.
Glumly surveying the outside of his house he couldn't help but think about Tao's whereabouts and wondering if he would ever embraced his adorable little kid again. He had returned back home just to lay down and get at least a few hours of sleep before he went out and continue with his search for Tao. He would have loved to continue on with his mission but unfortunately his body was dreadfully exhausted. He was just too tired to even move any of part of his body anymore and couldn't go on like this much longer without any sleep yet again. For days of his endless and fruitless search he hadn't bothered going back to his house at all. He couldn't remember how long it was when he couldn't even get a proper sleep or a decent bath for that matter.
The stressful event leading to the days of Tao's disappearance which he now recalled had terrified the hell out of him and it made him extremely angry at the men watching his son. How they could be careless and lose Tao's at his own territory. So far he was a bit satisfied with his wrathful retaliation upon the traitors that had betrayed him. Do those rats think him stupid to fall for their lies when clearly the surveillance video had captured their conspiracy plot against him?
People hadn't change, he had accepted that well known fact. He had discovered that in his life, there are those that would love to see him descend to power or even for him to get killed, or both. It rattled him when even his family would likely do the same thing to him. Although it wasn't anything new to him. He had been hurt a lot by many people and a lifetime of those emotional upheavals had made his heart scarred and broken.
Now, he had enough of the past to let himself get shaken again. He would have wished for things to have changed him, but couldn't get his heart not to get attached by the sweet child he had rescued from the rat of a father who had sold his own to get out of his gambling debt. The instance that the unworthy father had put his clammy creepy hands on the baby to deliver him to the perverted and obese businessman's hotel room he had taken drastic action to secure the baby for himself and ordered for the execution of both the dealer and his buyer. Thus, earning himself a new family in the means of adopting the baby instead of letting the boy grow up molested and rape at the hands of that fatty.
Somehow he felt that adopting the boy and giving him a new name Tao Liu, was a very important milestone in his young life. And now, eight years later the boy had grown up well mannered and loveable caring child he could be proud to call him as his own son. With the caring for the child, he had forgotten many unpleasant memories and aches in his heart. Even he had temporary forgotten his wild crush to that cold Yakuza.
His attention to the said man only had proved embarrassing in the end. Because Asami certainly hadn't been serious with him enough to stay or start a long distance relationship. Now, looking back, he certainly felt foolish to beg the man to love him. Asami had been unmovable and cold to him ever since the fiasco with his family. He in turn had been wrecked with too much pain and depression to see reason. Instead of thanking the man for saving his ass, he had been unrepentant to see things clearly and had told the man that he wouldn't forgive him for turning his back on him. Stupid of him for being that naive and depressingly clingy like a woman obsessed.
He had known for a long time that Asami wasn't taking an interest in him, but rather only to get reasonable alliance with his father, but that too had changed since his father still died and left him all alone in the world. He had gotten his freedom back and even with his narrow escape of years of imprisonment had been a blessing after the series of misfortunate events that was he so called life lived by prior to becoming the Baishe. However, he couldn't help but still be apprehensive that there is a still a lose end that somehow escaped his notice. Meeting Yoh during his brief stay inside the prison had definitely been a good thing as well because he had gained a good and loyal man.
Also, having Tao in his life had been the best thing that had happened to him after the many tragedies that struck him. His son's kidnapping would be the end to that fragile peace to keep him from breaking. Finding Tao is extremely important to him. Without the boy, he couldn't help but get sad and he would tear up everyone who is involved with his son's disappearance. He would make them all pay until he is satisfied with his vengeance.
After all, he still retains a tiny bit of his youth's attitude, he still have a hard time forgiving those people who had done him wrong. He wasn't that kind of a man who can easily forgive and let it be. As well as, he still have to maintain a high standard for his men to follow. Whoever would follow a weak leader was stupid as stupid gets, considering the lifestyle they lived by, it was indeed a thing to learn to become someone worthy of being Baishe of Hong Kong. It wasn't just the title, but with it comes the burden of the name along with its responsibilities. Accepting it was to become the unsightly evil it stands for. Those that anger him must have known that he will be coming sooner for their blood.
Right now, silence was all that remains inside the room as he had succumb to sleep. Later on, when he wakes up imagine his surprise at finding the Japanese man inside his bedroom sitting in a soft single chair smoking his cigar.
----
Feilong's voice was gruff but as soon as his eyes saw who the shadowed figure of a man quietly sitting in the chair near his opened window while smoking his Dunhill. "Who the bloody hell let you in here?" he yelled angrily at his unwanted visitor. Apart from having been startled upon waking up with an intruder inside his room, he have no patience with him.
"Well hello to you too, sleeping beauty. Excuse my seeming rudeness for waking you up but I trust you sleep good?" Asami asked dryly.
For a long moment the Baishe contemplated in his silence and then said abruptly, "Get up from that chair, leave my room and tell me a good reason after I get dressed as to why I shouldn't kill you for coming here at my home unannounced, and polluting my own room with that bile thing in your hands. I don't find it convenient to have to talked to you after this long time I hadn't seen your stupid ass, but I will humor you for a good explanation. Now, fucking get out!"
Asami stood and comfortably walked near his bed and gave him a dry laugh as he noticed Feilong's deeply masked embarassment and light blush on his cheeks. "I expect you to not take too long dressing up, doll. But then perhaps maybe you should take a long shower first because you stink by the way." Asami said teasingly, and then regretted the words as he saw the dragon keenly eyed the glint of the dagger atop his bookcase dresser near his left side.
"Right, I'll see you soon then," Asami said firmly and seriously this time. But before he left the room, and couldn't help but further add thoughtfully, "Do you know, you're rather a frightening afternoon person but still gorgeous in your sleepy but still femme fatale kind of look as always and no one can accuse you of vanity, heaven knows you don't need it despite the current smell," and grinned out mischievously at the surprise dragon.
Feilong's surprised gaze followed the departing figure of his sworn nemesis.
"Ass. The fuck is that man doing here in the first pace." Feilong said gloomily to himself.
"!" A horrible realization smote his face that perhaps the man had somehow got wind of his dilemma like the last time with his brother.
Drat. Whoever mouth had said something to that stupid ass would surely pay and he will make sure that traitor would be found and punished for leaking out information about him. He had been so certain that he had at least were done eliminating any traitors in his employ after Tao's recent kidnappings.
Never again would he believed anyone, since seeing that loyalty can be easily be brought up. He honestly should had known something like this would happen again. How terribly stupid can he get. Didn't he had learn this valuable lesson time and again for him to be cautious with everyone surrounding him? The very thought that yet another had come up betraying him simply made him feel exhausted in both mind and heart.
It would seem that life keeps stretching ahead, interminable, and grey. The bubbles of uncertainty keeps on expanding until nothing good remains. Inside, he wished for everything to be in perfect symmetry but for people like him, nothing seems to be but that of endless nightmarish specters. Misery swept over him as thoughts of his missing son resurfaced once more in his mind.
Getting up and hastily picking up his robe hanging on the wall near his bed and once again hurried to prepare himself to leave, when thoughts of Asami's words finally sunk through his still wearied mind.
Feilong shrugged. Oh, I simply can't let that ass mock me in my own home, and then swiftly walked towards his bathroom. I shall send the ass along with that traitor the best poison drink as a parting send off gift. Feeling immediately excited for the thought, he happily began to take his overdue bath. As his thoughts temporary shifted to the instructions he should give to his servants for those two, a rather light glow in his presence was transparently obvious. Poor souls. Indeed, the two men had unknowingly unleash the dragon's evil plans in their future. (Personally, I think they deserved it!:p)
Downstairs Asami and his men waited and occupied themselves with looking around at their reluctant host on his grand palatial house while lounging at the luxurious top designer armchairs. Although the chairs was overly large for him and his men, it was still comfortable to sit at.
"Don't you know that its truly a remarkable sight it is to see you sitting here Asami?" a deep voice said from the door. And glancing up, Asami realized that he was being observed by non other than the heir of his compatriot at arms Sergei Mishka Arbatov's son, Mikhail Arbatov.
"I didn't know you were an invited guest here. Tell me, Feilong doesn't know your here as well?" Asami returned with an air of lightness despite seeing the newly arrived man. Smirking to the grinning man. "But then again, your absolutely right. It is rather remarkable to see me when just a couple of days ago your old man was saying he locked you up in one of your family's secluded private islands for the latest trouble you've pulled out. What a naughty little kid you are."
Arbatov smiled. "My dad seems to have been in a singular mess with me seeing that he's attorney's all piled out in our house even as we speak. A fun of blood sticks through and through, don't you think so?"
"No, I don't," Asami said gravely, "though I think you've got your values mixed, haven't you?"
Arbatov shook his head resolutely, "Not really, I think you should see yourself in the mirror first before you point that out. But, I learned that if one want a thing badly enough one should fight for it, and I made my case. What I want to know is why are you here? And being the one who left him alone for years in the first place, you shouldn't be here at all. Actually, let's change that statement. It must be rather nice to get your old flame back, but then there are lots of benefits in having him around. However, consider yourself warned, I intend to compete with you Asami."
"Good Heavens, you don't mean to say your in love? I can feel that armageddon is fast approaching us. However, I feel thoroughly sickened with what you've said. Him and I were never lovers to begin with. Friends maybe, or not, depends on him really," Asami rested his arms at the sides and considers the fickle but deceptively dangerous boy's question.
"As for myself, I do however wouldn't bother with challenging you for that position seeing that I myself happened to be on the same boat as you. In fact, not furthering your baseless supposition, I do have someone I find more fascinating and more beautiful than your ideal man. If however we are competing for my wildcat then surely you wouldn't be finding a voice to begin with, for you're already buried six feet under before you can even blink."
"Isn't it better if both of you do that if you please. It would be very amusing to witness. However, as much as this topic of death isn't unwelcome at the moment, I would rather not dirty my own house. Thank you, but no, you may not kill each other here, do it outside if you both like to continue later. Now, as fascinating as to hear about this new cat of yours is, Asami. I would like to know what both of your uninvited selves are doing here and I find myself in present company with? Should I perhaps clean house again, seeing that you both are here and welcomed like a regular invited guest should be when in fact I can hardly stand the sight of the two of you." Feilong demanded displeasure purring out of him. If a killing intent is deadly, both men would have died there from their spot where they were currently standing at that moment. Sadly, that wasn't possible.
"Oh no, of course not. You know us, Asami and I were just talking. So, I'm guessing you've heard me. What will be your answer, sweetheart?"
"Shut it, Arbatov," Feilong said darkly.
"Alright, but you haven't heard the last from me," Arbatov conceded, at least for now.
Feilong's face lost its stiffness a little bit but then remembering these two buffoons haven't answered his query about why the two were here at his house. He sighed. Seeing the two had unexpectedly turned silent and intently watched him. He can almost see the question marks hanging above their heads.
Seriously, these two!
The Baishe's eyes suddenly turned, his eyes wander to the window. Night was fast approaching. His whole aura changed completely, overcome with misery. Both powerful visitors look at each other when all of the sudden the dragon had vacated his spot and walked away from them and out towards the doorway, apparent anxiety visible in his face.
"What the hell?!? Hey, wait up. Seriously, your just going to leave us just like that?" Arbatov's was stunned at the shocking action his dragon had taken but hurriedly run after the departing figure of the Baishe and grabbing the long haired beauty's wrist.
"I don't have time for this, let go of me!" Feilong said acidly.
"Listen and calm down. Look, we're both here to help you find Tao," Arbatov said urgently, still he tightened his hold on the struggling beauty. Ignoring the painful kicks sent his way.
"And what are your intentions when you offered your services, but whatever. I don't need you or that ass's help. Its my business, so screw you both. Now fucking let go of me!" Feilong snapped.
In spite of the atmosphere of strain and anxiety that hovered in the struggling Baishe and the now slightly alarmed mafioso, Asami walked calmly towards the men. He had observed fairly enough, now its time for him to act.
"You look like a drama queen Fei-long, and hey don't hit me & Arbatov just yet. I for one, don't like getting hit, I'm not a masochist. And Arbatov here have enough scars at it is. Well, I'm sure you didn't intend to stick around for us, when you could be out there looking out for your son. I agree. But despite whatever grievances you have, I simply find it rude to leave us immediately when we're both unexpectedly turned up unto your doorsteps like you've said. Nevertheless we're offering you our solemn service to help you find your missing boy. And if your wrestling with the ideas in your head that you don't need help, then I pity you. From what I've heard, you've been searching out for days and still you've come up with nothing. But if all of us is to look for him, surely we can at least find some evidence to gather around. Don't simply dismiss our help when its freely offered." Asami said sincerely.
"So your here to help," Feilong voice drawled snidely, though it was only then had he been able to think rationally.
Mellowing up, he glanced at the faces of his unexpected helpers. "Fine. But get this, I don't trust you both. Don't get in my way, and if you have a hidden agenda. I won't hesitate to kill you both or hunt you down even through the deepest pits of hell. Hades won't cover your asses if you attempted to screw me up."
Feilong turned his face to Arbatov, "Now release me this instance. Like I've said before, I have to find Tao before its too late." he demanded fervently. Leaning nearer to his captor, the Baishe furiously hissed. "Hold me like that again, and I swear I'll cut your hand off." Within seconds, he was let go.
Arbatov smiled without humor, forgetting the threat, he leaned closely to his beloved's face. "I will sure to release into you soon. You're utterly magnificent when your angry, my dear dragon."
Before Feilong could slap the man, Arbatov step away from the pissed off beauty. The sad look certainly didn't fit Feilong. He would gladly accept anything even to cut off his limbs if he can at least help vanished the anguished look of his beloved.
As for Asami, he had muttered in himself. Kids. He didn't like any of them. But he guess he just have to continue and bare with it a little. For the sake of an old friendship and not to mention Yoh's begged him to help his beloved master. Plus, having an almost childlike lover soon, he supposed that he would need to get used to this kind of behavior. And to have tons of patience when dealing with 'brats' in the near future.
Inside him, he knew Akihito was his. He is more precious than anything else in the world. Certainly, he could sympathize with whatever the dragon was feeling for his boy. After all, the missing child was the dragon's own, not by blood, but it doesn't really count. Tao is his. His son.
Asami can attest the dept of love the Baishe leader feels about loosing someone close, much less his family. Just like what he imagined feeling if even a hair on his soon to be mate would be harmed.
Suddenly feeling impatient, he couldn't help but think of his Akihito. It had only been a few hours since he had left the warm bed he briefly shared with his sleeping love and the need to see him again was so intense that even his body was having an extremely hard time coping for not being able to be there with his little love.
Hmm. It's kind of funny too, when he doesn't remember ever feeling this way before. Who would have known that his new maid would turn his world upside down. Amazing thing for it had to happen to him of all people. His boy continue to surprise him, and his instinct tells him that it would continue for the rest of their lives in the near future.
With a shake to his head, he let his mind refocused on why he was still here in Hong Kong. When in fact, all he wanted was to get this problem solved and for him to get home sooner to his Akihito.
Turning his attention back to the two. Seeing the Baishe and the Mafioso still rallying against each other. Asami sighed.
"Come on love birds, let's go." Without waiting for a reply, Asami repaired to the doorway leading out of the house. Leaving behind a disgruntled dragon, and a grinning lunatic to whistle a happy tune.
Asami knew that at least once everything is concluded here, his business of courting his man would resume once more. The wicked gleam in his eyes gave the other men uneasiness. Enough for Suoh and Akira who was standing not far from him to shivered in fright.
Kirishima mourned. Unbeknownst to him lay a terrible burden. He wasn't going to like his new role to come. (Cough, babysitting duties**).
The dragon was obstinately uncaring and often times would be giving some of his infamous death glares at the foolish blond man, while the other contentedly whistled and continued on following his obsession out of the house.
