Okay so they're casting young Lucius Malfoy, too. For a dinner scene with Slughorn. I sincerely hope they're not attempting to pretend he went to school with Tom Riddle... Will he be in the same photo as Regulus? (which would also be incorrect) Or he will just get his own photograph with Slughorn, which will be shown in what will be an amazing, far ( Read more... )

I'm going to take that as a good sign, and blame Tom if the movie doesn't deliver.

Aww, don't blame Tom. He's not what I would call a canon expert-didn't he admit to not reading the books once, or did I hallucinate it?

I just can't get excited over the movie. My hatred for RickSnape has reached such levels where I twitch whenever he's onscreen, and given that this is HBP...well, 'nuff said.

I mean, the TOWER SCENE! SRSLY. With Alan "Overact" Rickman hamming it up, Tom "Comic Relief" Felton being a blundering fool, Michael "Unexplainably constantly angry" Gabon hissing and spitting and Dan being just...Dan, and attempting to convery emotion...what a hot mess.

Actually, scratch that, it sounds like it will be HILARIOUS. For my sanity, I need to see these films as an extended version of the SNL spoofs.

AHAHA Please, do go on! Suddenly I can imagine the movie far better. I haven't even considered Gambon fucking up the pleading yet, but I guess it is a given as much as everything else. - I can't wait!

You and I so need to get rip-roaringly drunk and watch this movie together. We could sit in the back and mercilessly heckle the crap acting, throwing popcorn whenever Rickman comes on screen.

But alas...we are an ocean apart, and are far more likely to watch bits and pieces of HBP on YouTube for free.

That would be beyond fantastic. Damned stupid geography. ;)

We'll have to keep the mocking online, for now. (Though I do want to travel to the States at some point. Won't be able to do it before the HBP movie. Maybe for the DH movie!)

Hi - here via friendsfriends, it seems we have quite a few LJ pals in common. :)

I am utterly confused by this "young Lucius" situation. I mean, if Kloves wants to pad out HPB and add scenes with Lucius, why not just get Jason Isaacs to do it? He honestly does a great job, and clearly enjoys the role.

The fella they hired for "young Lucius" would probably make a decent Regulus, though...

We certainly do, and I have absolutely no idea what's up with Lucius! I appreciate all their young version casting, because the backstory is what interests me most about HP and getting faces and pictures for icons, vids and manips(the death penalty among fan creation, but still) is always fun, but the why remains a mystery.

I guess film is a visual medium, a name without a face is worthless, and maybe they admirably do want to point out why Sluggy doesn't like Draco? I maintain it proves that Yates does care for other things than "sexual politics".
