Consider me not disappointed

The Trailer  And yes, if you haven't watched it, you should!

This is unexpected! They made a Tom Riddle trailer! They pretty much show us the entire orphanage scene and it's a thing of absolute beauty. It's probably the best scene in the movie by far (although it wasn't my favorite in the book) but that still makes the entire movie worth it, worth ( Read more... )

Ooh, that trailer was surprisingly good. I'm not quite excited about the film yet, but I'm getting there. Young Riddle was great. And hey, at least Dumbledore has a funky scarf :)

The scarf is funky, true, but slightly understated for canon!Albus... Tom is now my favorite creepy bb psycho ever - Damien can go to hell.

Seconded, the trailer is awesome.:-)

I don't mind Dumbledore's lack of purple robes either (I've heard too many bad jokes about how his homosexuality is 'obvious' from the way he dresses), but I would have liked to see how he looked like when he was still a redhead. Oh well.

I love it too! It should probably be updated with an angsting little Voldemort now. He might have quickly come over it - but before he murdered his dad, he was one angsty boy!

I guess the Dumbledore continuity is completely fucked from CoS to now... Does he have red hair in the CoS flashbacks? I can't remember - I never paid much attention to movie!Dumbledore, because I was really never really happy with his casting and portrayal.

The trailer looks really good! It’s just that I think most of the movie isn’t going to be anywhere near as good as this. But yeah, this is definitely better than I expected. At one point I was sure I wouldn’t want to waste my time and money on any HP movies anymore, but I don’t know, maybe I’ll go see this after all.

Absolutely, I won't be shocked if this is the best scene in the entire movie and making a good trailer is MUCH easier than making a good movie in general , but ... squee.

With HP movies I can always appreciate single good scenes anyway. One good screencap is like one good piece of fanart, I don't need the entire 2 1/2 hours to be good to get something out of it.

OMG I cant wait to see it!

I'm sure they'll put out another trailer just for the non-fannish people who only come for the movies and who won't have a clue what the scene is about. And we wouldn't miss the chance to throw in some gratituous Emma Watson shots to get her admirers into the theatres now, would we?

IKR Before I was mostly a little worried, now I'm fairly excited what else they came up with!

I think they are trying to entice non fannish people with this already. Who doesn't like evil little children? :D But I also thing there will have to be a more general trailer with gratuitous Emma, a sec of Harry almost kissing his new girl and, I hope, lots of hints of awesome stuff like a crying Narcissa, Draco being ripped open and DEs attacking Hogwarts (HOGWARTS! Not just the goddamned burrow!).

I have seen the trailer. The bits with Tom Riddle are Made of Awesome. I shudder to think what the Harry/Ginny bits will be like. How will they manage to put that in? It's not as if Ginny ever had much interaction with Harry in the movies.

LOL at your description of Dumbledore's high-heeled plum auburn fabulousness.

In my next life I want to be a member of the Fiennes family.

Don't we all. :D
