I agree with you. I often get annoyed at our anthropocentrism, we are raised to think that humans are the kings of this world and all other life forms are here just for our amusement. Even when I hear people voicing their concern about extinction of certain animal species, they often use arguments like “Our children will never have the opportunity to see a Siberian Tiger! That’s terrible!”. Annoying.

Seriously, god forbid our enjoyment of tigers would be spoiled in such a way!

It's often so puzzling, like when I read a description of a lecture about the human brain stating "the human is the only being possessing consciousness" as if you could just throw that information about any other life form on earth in there randomly and unchecked, after so much research by actual animal experts has already found evidence of the opposite(especially with dolphins/whales). Sometimes I can't believe in what unenlightened times we live today.
