What's wrong with my life at Rutgers.

I'm sick of college, at this point.  I've always been an introvert.  Coming out of high school, I was a loner who didn't mind being a loner.  Compared to life in high school, college was a loner's paradise.  Fewer day to day obligations, freeing me to waste my time all by my lonesome, as I wished.

True story: the other day, I read a paper about how college campuses are horrible places to meet people. Because most meetings have little potential to become meaningful relationships. Because you meet most people in classes, where the focus is work; or at parties where the music is so loud, and there are so many people, that you don't get the opportunity to become acquainted with anybody. (Music drowns out conversation, which no one is willing to carry beyond introductions and small talk and BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO TALK LIKE THIS.) I don't think it's you. I think many college students feel the same way. You are not alone.

Well, I do hope that you will find people in your life that will appreciate you for your character and will allow you to open up so that you may have wonderful relationships with others. Human interaction for me is so interesting. I find that I am quite scared of letting people know me, but because I am a listener, it has been easy for me to know other people's lives without them really knowing about mine. I guess we all have things to work on, but I just have to say that I have tremendous hope that things can change. People can surprise you; you may surprise yourself with what you can do. Wishing you all the best,

This is my first time actually reading your journal. You usually write excessively which can deter many people from actually looking into what you are saying. It isn't that we have short attention spans, its just that you're dragging out a subject that really isn't that big of a deal ( ... )
