So I was right these two months ago...
'Babel' is good. Interesting plot, multiple ways in which you can read the movie and really good Brad Pitt. Plus watching it can really make you think differently about our global village.
Unfortunately (for me) I was expecting a little more from Inarritu after watching his almost perfect “Amores perros”… Ha, that movie was possibly the best thing ( Read more... )

However, I've just watched Casino Royal, and you're right, he's no substitute for Brosnan - because he's BETTER! BRosnan played for cheese and laughs, in the end he wasn't far off Moore for cheese - it was all a bit well, 'american' in it's vision. Craig is more real, onbiously it's still all made up, but it's not so far off that you have trouble beliving it. He's a hardman, and a killer and he's not 'good' he's just (In the words of 'M') a blunt instrument, a last resort, and he does it very well.
There were a few dodgy moment in the movie, but on the whole, it was perhaps the best movie in the bond series - whether this makes it the best 'bond movie' is subjective, some people like the cheese. Craig, as long as the writers don't resort to cheese, will be a damn good bond. As good as Moore, but with an undercurrent of cruelty thrown in.
