Errrrrrr... new fic, anyone?

I started writing this stuff on Thursday night, when I was pathetically gloomy and obsessed with T. S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock". I tend to re-read my favourite things when I'm depressed, and this time through association of ideas the poem got me to think of Hastings and the orderly life he must have led with his wife and four ( Read more... )

fic, hastings, poirot

I really love this, and I'm glad I'm not the only one with a dark/depressed Hastings. I'm really curious to see what happens next.

Yeah, I'm also contemplating my own little story which follows the TV!verse, where Hastings gets married and eventually leaves all together. I should probably write that before I forget what I wanted to do with it.

This is really good, and I hope that you do continue. I agree that you can't get better at writing a character unless you practice, but I really like your Hastings' voice.

Thank you so much!!!! *silly grin*
I was a bit nervy about posting this to be honest, because it didn't really fit with everyone's usual conception of Hastings, if you see what I mean. But then I don't think any of us fits in the "everyone" category XD

I would love to read this. And the story with Hastings' horrible sister. And the sad story you were talking about the other evening. And... *ducks flying landlord*

Thanks again *hugs* Coming from you, this means a lot. It's your fics that first tricked me into considering writing some Hastings/Poirot stuff :)

You're welcome! *toothy grin back*

Yes, I see what you mean. I was nervous, too, about the blackmail fic when I posted it for the same reason. I've got a spy idea, too, (influenced, no doubt, by all of Hugh's spy characters XD) that I'm not sure about.

Awww, hehe. *blushes* Thank you, hon. I'm going to post the depressing story in a little bit (hopefully).

You're welcome, hon. *hugs back* Awww, shucks. *blushes again* Mwahahaha! I'm proud to be such a bad influence. :0)

Lovely.
Sometimes I feel that behind Hastings' usual easygoing demeanour, there may be something lurking in the darkness.

Of course seeing him in this inner turmoil, I want to hug him senselessly, and make everything all right again. Not that it works that way, some problems cannot be hugged away by enthusiastic fangirls... :)

Anyway, this looks promising, and I'm curious as to where you're going with it. :)

Thanks!
Yeah... I can't help but complicate the lives of apparently simple, happy and innocent characters *headdesk* ;)

Oooooh yes. I know I wouldn't mind hugging Fraser!Hastings senselessly. And I'm a lad x)

Hehe, I'll update as soon as I possibly can. Real life is getting in the way *waves fist*

Angst is a good thing. Without it, everything gets awfully pink and fluffy, which is nice if it lasts a page, but no more.
Of course, pure angst is also bad for the stomach...
I prefer a nice, balanced diet of the two! :D

The same hugging rights are valid for fanboys as well, as far as I'm aware. ;)

Yeah, real life can get annoying... Don't let it overtake, though! XD
