Oblivious time traveller Paul

I keep coming across these "time traveller Paul" fanfics where Paul mysteriously gets thrown back to the 60s and makes it his mission in life to stop John from being assassinated. It's like a whole genre right there. What is really funny (or annoying, depending on how you look at it) is the way that Paul sometimes absent-mindedly remembers that it ( Read more... )

Brian would actually be a more logical choice for Paul to "save" because if Paul merely "saved" John, it still wouldn't do a damn thing to "save" The Beatles as a group.

Oh, agreed. I think Paul is the one focused on because most of these writers are all about the Uber-Special John/Paul Bond.

Our Brian, however, never ever hesitated to put his own life on the line personally.

He certainly did his best to protect them in Manila, and I think it just destroyed him that he wasn't able to keep them safe. I also think that he would have taken a bullet for them if he'd had to. Brian was a very courageous man... but then an addiction to risk and danger will do that for you. If it had just been him who had gotten beaten up in Manila, I doubt it would have weighed on him for long.

It amused me to read (I think it was in Alistair's book, but it may have been someone else's such as Tony Bramwell, Derek Taylor, Geoffrey Ellis or *cringe* Peter Brown) that whenever anyone else said something like, "(one of the boys) is in (wherever) right ( ... )

Pop Idol/American Idol! LOLOLOLOL!

Y'know, I NEVER sat and watched that thing. Maybe once or twice for a minute or two, then I switched channels before I lost my lunch!

The funniest thing about that idea is ~~ that would be exactly the type of thing he would like to do!

Sir George Martin has the right idea on that crap.

Oh, Briiiian. *resigned sigh* If you were on it, it would be my fave show. But I'd have a barf bag on hand just in case. XD

I know! It's terrible, isn't it? I can just imagine it... he would be in his seventies now, the elder statesman of impresarios, still loving every minute of it.

I can't help both cringing and longing for it at the same time. :(
