So I've just finished reading Alistair Taylor's A Secret History. On the whole I found it a little disappointing--rather short and lacking in detail--but still with its interesting points ( Read more... )

Well spotted! John Lennon certainly was capable of being self-contradictory at times, but it strikes me as more likely that this was a flaw in Alistair's reporting.

The other possibility, of course, is that John understood "vice-versa" and "shagging" to be two distinct activities...

Is "vice-versa" a bit of Brit slang with which I'm unfamiliar? What do you take it to mean there? Enquiring minds want to know....

It is British slang, but I'm afraid I can't give you an exact definition. It just sounds familiar to me. I'm curious too!
