After four-plus years of contract work at the same company, I've finally been offered a permanent position. Fingers crossed. I feel good. I also feel older. But that kinda feels good too.
Also, as I slowly work through the second, new Eva movie, I've come to the conclusion that you're probably not so hot on the revival because it's about 100% less angsty, thus supporting the hypothesis that we have effectively switched personas. ;)
I think you might be right. More specifically, the rebuilds are far more focused on action spectacle than the weird psychological stuff that made TV Eva so damn odd and powerful. No need for introspection when the animation budget's no longer an issue, I guess.
That said, the second rebuild was a lot better than the first. I'm still not convinced they're necessary, but I'm now far more intrigued to see where they're going with this than I was at the end of the first one. But man, so much bad Engrish...

I kid, I kid. I am liking the second one a lot more too and most certainly questioned the need for remakes, but they've kept it interesting thus far. I can't say I'm not looking forward to the others. ^^
