I'm seriously debating dropping CS61A ): If I choose to focus on 3D animation classes, which I probably will, I can't fit in CS major/minor reqs anyway, so taking 61A would purely be for my enjoyment. And it's kind of a huge time investment so practically speaking I'd be better off spending time on getting a job, learning maya, and building a ( Read more... )

hey what I'D BE A DELINQUENT IF I GOT CAUGHT BUT I NEVER DIIIIIIID. my record is clean, yo.

I ACTUALLY SAW THAT IN THE COURSE LIST AND I THOUGHT OF SUGGESTING IT TO YOU. Seriously the first thing I thought: "wow Iris would like this." GLAD TO HEAR YOU'RE TAKING IT ALREADY!

I want to take sign language hahahaaaaaaa. Date is TBA though. I can only take it if it doesn't conflict with board meeting or my art classes. So wednesday. 25% chance lmao.

Aw, all of that bites. BUT CONGRATS ON GETTING INTO THE CLASS! WOOO!

I also love that project idea you have. I wish we did something like that back when I was in school, because as a first grader, I probably would have had a blast making up colors and throwing them around randomly and then agonizing over, "Oh no! The last spot I want to make red, but there is a red right next to it whyyyyyy???"

I hope you make your decision of what you want to do and what you need to do. Maybe a teacher or two could help you?

THANK YOU!

hahaha I'm a 14th grader and I still like making up colors 8)! And I totally had that "oh shoot I have red there already" issues, heh heh~

Thanks! I don't really see how a teacher could help me, considering I'm pretty aware of the pros and cons already. It's a matter of figuring out what I think is more important to me.

XDDD
Who doesn't? My teachers would get so mad at me for being a perfectionist. They'd always just tell me to loosen up a bit and get it finished, like the rest of the class.

And yeah, I see what you mean. Well, maybe just talking to someone about it will help you decide. It usually works for me.

Sounds like you're facing a lot of tough decisions! Picking the right classes sounds so hard...but all of those classes DO sound really fun. That grid looks awesomely colourful.

Haha, one of my friends was showing me how to play MAGIC the other day with one of his decks, and it was actually quite fun lol. But geeky. XDDD

Hope you get your tablet and get everything sorted out and decided upon. :)

yes! So it's not too painful of a decision hahaha.

I haven't heard of it since... elementary school. Is it really?! hahaha maybe I'll look into it... later...

thank you!

Hmmm that is a dilemma about CS61A. As for time commitment, I personally didn't find 61A to be that much of a time-guzzler, minus maybe the final project (which was just in an awkward place, calendar-wise). Good luck, whatever you choose!

(PS if you're gonna go the art-animation route, do you still plan on taking UCBUGG or Art of Animation (I think both are under the CS department)? If so, when? (I'm planning on taking those next year if time allows *wink wink nudge nudge*)

That art project looks good. :O I would never have the patience for that. @_@ /not one for details OTL

I think anything that makes me meet with other people is a time-guzzler for me. My schedule's hectic as is already due to late studios and club activities ): If I could just work on things late into the night alone I wouldn't mind as much.

(I'm taking UCBUGG (hopefully) next fall semester :)! and Art of animation I'm saving for my senior year. I think that's what they recommend?! I'm taking beginner CGI animation over the summer, and advanced in the spring '10, probably!)

thank you! i normally wouldn't either loll. I only continued cause it was mandatory aha.
