Shalom Eleichem !

I just came home from a wonderful Shabbat. Yes, you read right -- a wonderful Shabbat. I finally found a Jewish community in the West, in my own city, which is the most amazing part. It's literally -- right in my backyard. One of the English professors told me about it, and today I went out to find it. He said it was on the road one takes from El ( Read more... )

Love the icon, ha ha!

Yes, it is nice. Don't know if I'll return, but I might. It was very peaceful.

I've always been meaning to ask you. How come you became a Jew? You always seemed like such a devout Catholic, worshipping the Virgin and all, and your mother seemed to think it's important, too. I'm very curious in when you decided to convert, what your motivations were etc. ^^ Finally I know a Jew personally! XD

Oh, my... It's a long, long story. Yeah.
It was something I knew in my heart, something I felt. For a long time. It was... as if I started to truly live and belong (faith-wise) when I started to join the Jewish community. Know what I mean?
We can discuss this elsewhere, feels Kookie jabbering on about it here. Ha ha!

You found the Jews! I did too. They're at Brookline. So if you ever drop by, that's where you'll find the shul, shops, and kosher all over.

Good luck with the candle. It's one of my favourite poses. I can never quite hit the, "I'm relaxing and unwinding" thing with the others... but I do with the candle. Hnh.

The candle is your... fave? NNUUURGGHHH!!
Wow.

Need to work it out. I like the cobra. Oh, and the Sun salute, even if it's crazy-ass long.

I actually did it for years, just for fun, before I realized it was Yoga. It just seemed to come naturally. There's also a ballet exercise that's very similar.

You know? I do remember the ballet excercise, yeah. I know you did it at Kindy. Man, them Kindy folk have sure evolved... There's all kinds of stuff they're putting together, and now they have classes for adults. Say! Now that you live in Boston... you can go to some dance class, or whatever.

It's cool that you found the Jewish community! I'm happy for you!

And I've always thought about trying Yoga. Never have, but I've thought about it. *laughs*

Oh and:

I hated when I lived in the South and ladies said my name as "Mohw-ree."

Um..some of that's simply accent and we can't exactly control how some things sound. So while it sounded awful and all, depending on where you were in the South, like Georgia (who pronounce their own state Jaw-juh, because they can't help it) or whatever, they just can't help how some vowels get sort of stretched and stuff.

I know the Southners can pronounce a bit different, and yeah-- can't help it. Oooh, I love the Georgia accent, ha ha! But, the question did ask what I didn't like, and I didn't like the mOwh part. The Oh sounds, is all. No offense meant to all them lovely Southern folk!

Just thought? Get on out there and go do Yoga, man! It's cool !

I used to have a really broad southern accent...but I was so embarrassed by it that I worked on basically speaking with out it.

So, now I don't sound like I have much of an accent. To me and my family, at least. I kind of wish I hadn't... :/ I almost miss it, though I probably still have it to others. *snorts*
