the TRUE meaning of math

Jun 13, 2006 22:05

ladies and gentlemen i present to you the TRUE meaning of math...

a + b = t

(a + b)(a - b) = t(a - b)

a² - b² = ta - tb

a² - ta = b² - tb

a² - ta + (t²)/4 = b² - tb + (t²)/4

(a - t/2)² = (b - t/2)²

a - t/2 = b - t/2

a = b

Thus all numbers are the same, and math is pointless.

Mind blowing, simply mind blowing. I usually just proved that by saying: (X+4)(X-7)=0
0((X+4)(X-7))=0(0)
0=0
Numbers are always meaningless.
I'm glad that you sent that to O'Daniel, but if he proves it wrong, reality as we know it might unravel.
