BWAHAHA! Yesterday saw the launch of the Sony PSP, AND I HAVE ONE! As of yet, I have not bought any games for it, although on the top of my list is Metal Gear AC!D. I don't care what anyone else says, the PSP is definetly more technologically advanced than the Nintendo DS, albeit a bit more fragile and without the fun wireless messaging feature ( Read more... )

Meh... I'm not all that amazed over it. I won't get one for the same reason I didn't get a flip-screen for my Gamecube. Why would I want to play a PS game on the road? They're not the most portable-friendly designs... this is why portable games are written for their own systems! I could see it being useful on a long road trip, but that's about the extent of it, unfortunately.

Well, I'm a real gadget-whore, so that was the real reason I got it. Take THAT, Peter! >:D

As the DS continues to provide me nothing more then a good alarm clock and calender, the PSP looks juicier and juicier. My loyalties are fairly ambivalent now, so my decision is strongly focused on games-of which the PSP has many GOOD LAUNCH TITLES, many scoring higher in ratings then ANY TITLES FOR THE DS THUS FAR.

I can't currently justify that $250 cost, and really wish I could just get the base system for $190~200 (and yes, any base system should include the battery and AC adapter, SONY. Especially since its supposed to be portable). Plus I want to wait and see if there are any noticable defects in this batch that Sony execs pompously write off as small intended problems far overshadowed by the beauty of the system.

But by the time I get my tax return, if the PSP has lived up to expectations, I will likely treat myself to one.

I'll look into that and AC!D. I've also found that the square button is no different from the Japanese model, I'm just going to be extra careful with it, and make sure that I tap it on the far right side of the button instead of the middle. Also, the right trigger button on my unit seems to have a louder "click" than the left, but that's just a minor nitpick. I would like to know, however, how the hell I can change the screen background from puke green to a nice cryogenic blue. :)
