Whilst I'm not disagreeing with any of your points, the bit that had me going "Gah" was actually the martial arts failure in a supposedly martial arts film. (Actually the race fail was worse, but you've already covered that.) In the series, I was able to successfully name three of the four martial arts styles used, becuase they were so accurately portrayed. In the film, only Aang seemed to actually know what he was doing. Everyone else was - literally - going through the motions, but cleary not a martial artist.

Ah yes, the typical "Hollywood martial arts" fail. I didn't really notice anything about Aang's fighting that was any better than the others, but admittedly I may have been distracted by the completely wooden acting and expression that would have done Keanu Reeves proud.

And why the hell did he randomly change the pronunciation of *every* person's name? What point could it possibly have?

Aha, apparently the kid playing Aang has a black belt. Of course, it's in Tai Kwan Do so....
