“You have reached Kamenashi’s mailbox, please leave your mess-…”
A chuckle. “Stop it! Akanishi!”
A whine. “Akanishi? Why so formal?”
A sigh. “I’m making a voicemail message here; people leave their mess-…”
A shriek, “Stop it!” a hearty laugh and
Beep…….
Jin pressed the replay button again and listened to it once more. He wasn’t sure how long he had been sitting in Kazuya’s living room listening to the machine, replaying it over and over again. And when he heard a soft click at the door, he immediately pressed stop.
“Listening to it again?” Pi sighed softly, making himself comfortable beside him.
“No…”
Jin knew very well that his friend didn’t and wouldn’t trust his denial and he didn’t care anymore whether Pi believed it or not.
“Let’s go out tonight.”
He shook his head. “I don’t feel like it.”
“Jin… you haven’t gone out with us for months… get out of this place for a while, clear your head.” Pi persuaded.
“I’m waiting for Kazuya… what if he makes up his mind to come back home and saw no one here-…”
“He’s been gone for 5 months, for 5 months… Jin…”
Jin shook his head. Kazuya will come home, come home to him… he had promised and Kazuya never broke his promise. He would come home and smile that smile of his, telling him that everything was okay. That he had missed him and love him.
“He will come home…” Jin murmured to himself and he could hear Pi heave a sigh.
“I don’t know what to do with you anymore Jin…”
Jin pressed pause and rewind, then play. He smiled at the image on the TV; Kazuya’s hearty chuckle broke the silence of the room while Maru was frowning at the younger band mate, whining about Kazuya being cruel to him.
“You’re cruel…” he recognized his own voice and the young man in the screen turned around, and Jin could feel his heart ache when he saw the wide grin on the younger man’s face.
“As if you never teased him too…”
A chuckle and Kazuya turned again turning his back to the camera.
“Hey…”
Kazuya turned again, raising a perfect brow at him and after a moment, he could see a tint of blush on the other’s cheeks, before flashing out a shy smile. Jin could remember very well what he had done that caused the younger man to react like that.
“Oh please… get a room Jin…” Koki’s teasing voice could be heard from the background.
“Shut up, baldy!”
His band mates whistled and cheered whilst the view on the TV moved and Jin absently touched his lips… he could still feel the soft kiss on his lips and a soft whisper of, “I love you…”
He still remembered clearly their conversation that day. It was like one of those days when he had always thought that he would stay happy and in love forever. But that day changed everything…
“I’m leaving for a while…”
“For another drama?”
Kazuya shook his head and he watched the younger man take off the bracelet around his wrist, took his hand and placed it gently in his palm. His heart beat furiously against his ribcage while his head kept on saying that it wasn’t real, but when he felt the cold chain against his skin… he knew that this was real…
“I’m letting go of you…” Kazuya smiled sadly.
Jin blinked and he had wanted to shout and ask why, but his voice came out in a soft whisper. “Why?”
“I have too…”
“That doesn’t explain anything Kazuya!”
“I… I don’t think we could work out…”
His heart ached and he felt as if it had been stabbed multiple times, that if he really bled by it, he would have already been dead.
“It’s my mother isn’t it?”
He could see the other flinch slightly by the mention of it. He had known about it all along, Reio had mentioned it to him, telling him that mama had gone out to meet Kazuya-kun and have been acting anxious ever since the meeting. He also noticed the changes in his boyfriend ever since that day… and the hints that the other had thrown at him, but he acted like he didn’t notice it and had naively thought that it was just one of those phases and Kazuya would forget about it, but seemed like he didn’t.
“You promised me that you wouldn’t leave me…”
The younger man only looked down at his feet. “I have too… I promised your mother that I would let go of you…”
Jin reached out his hand towards Kazuya but the other backed away from the touch. He bit his lip, trying to swallow down the tears but failed.
“Don’t go… please…”
The younger man in front of him had already clasped his own mouth with his hands trying to muffle down the sobs.
“Please… don’t go and leave me…”
“I’m sorry… I’m really sorry…”
And before he knew it, the younger man had left, walking out from his life and everyone’s lives with the mention of taking a long break but he was fine by it because Kazuya had called him later that night telling him that he would come back.
“I hope that you’ll find someone and be happy when I come back.”
He had wondered how Kazuya could sound so calm saying those words.
“Then I’ll wait for you…” he replied stubbornly.
“Then I won’t come back…” the other retorted.
“Then I’ll wait till you come back.”
Kazuya was silent and he could hear a soft sigh at the other end of the line. “Why are you so stubborn?”
“You’ve already taken my heart away. How can I love another anymore?”
A sniffled, “Idiot… you’re an idiot you know that?”
“Come back home soon okay?” he whispered, smiling bitterly, “Or I would go crazy.”
“Don’t say that…”
“So come back to me. I’ll be waiting…”
Jin closed his eyes… he didn’t know how long he could stand this anymore. He felt broken and he didn’t know if time could mend him back. All he could do was wish for Kazuya to come back and pull him out from this… pull him out from the darkness…

A/N: yes... another sad update but I promised that it will have a lighter mood in the next one though I won't be posting it soon. heheh I have a simulated teaching on friday and I barely done anything for it (^^;;)
