CHAPTER 6
Kazuya shook his head slightly wanted to get rid of the image. Jin had looked so devastated and hurt that he could feel a slight ache in his chest.
“Hey… are you okay?” Jin’s voice was heard. And it somehow sounded so soothing… so familiar…
He looked at the other, and gone was the image of younger Jin.
“I’m sorry…” He needs to do this.
Jin looked at him questioningly.
“I’m sorry that I can’t remember you at all…”
Jin stared at him wide-eyed in surprise.
“I don’t know why I couldn’t. But I somehow knew that I’d hurt you. I’m sorry.”
Jin reached his hands towards him but stopped midway, unsure. Kazuya took a deep breath.
“It’s okay… I won’t hit you unless you start to grope me again.”
Jin blinked then scoffed good-naturedly, and Kazuya could see the relief glint in Jin’s eyes. Kazuya smiled feeling slightly at eased, as if a burden had been lift up from his shoulders.
“Good, so leave me alone so I can clos-“
Jin had pulled him into an embrace, murmuring a soft. “You don’t know how much I missed you.”
Kazuya flinched from the sudden contact but after a while he relaxed, resting his head against the other’s shoulder. Jin smelt nice… he noted in his head as Jin continued to hold him tightly. It somehow felt so right…
………………………………………………………………………………………
“Made up?”
Kazuya furrowed his brows. “I’m not talking to you.”
“But you are,” the old man chuckled writing short notes in a log book.
“You tricked me grandpa.”
“But it leads to a nice conclusion don’t you think?”
Kazuya’s face heated slightly. He couldn’t deny that he was glad, happy even that everything between him and Jin had been solved but Jin was still a very mysterious guy to him and the fact that Jin knew almost everything about him irked Kazuya a little bit.
It was as if Jin knew all his weaknesses, and he hated it. He wanted to know about the other. Real bad. Not that he was that interested. He just felt that it wasn’t fair that Jin knew a lot.
Yeah… right…
Kazuya blinked at his inner thoughts. Is his conscience contradicting him just now?
The clanged of the door broke his thoughts. Hastily he walked out towards the counter and there was Jin grinning widely at him. He could feel himself blushed as Jin’s grin grew wider.
“What?” he asked annoyed and giddy… wait… giddy?
Jin shrugged placing his hands into the back of his pocket, rocking back and forth and slightly on his heels.
Silence. It was awkward, but it’s a nice kind of awkward.
“Uh…” Jin started, shuffling his feet.
“What do you want?” Kazuya quickly cuts him off.
“A date,” Jin said nonchalantly, and he choked on his spit.
“Wh-“ cough “… at?” cough.
Jin smirked. “Not you. Manami-chan asked Sho-kun out for a date.”
Kazuya wished that the floor just opened up and swallowed him whole or he could just punched Jin right at the face. No… Kamenashi Kazuya is not a violent person… violence won’t solve anything. Yuichi had said that he’s a gentle person. He must be calm and gent-
“Do you want to have a date with me that much that you’d started to imagine it?”
Still coughing, he glared at the taller man. “Shut up.”
Jin chuckled and Kazuya was highly irritated and he was about to retort back when he saw something in Jin’s eyes. His irritation dissipates and he could feel himself flustered by the gaze.
Kazuya… you’re not a ninny. Stop getting worked up.
Avoiding the gaze, he called out to his grandpa.
No answer.
“Grandpa?” he called again. “Someone had a message for you.”
Still no answer.
Frowning, Kazuya walked towards the office, calling out with Jin following behind.
“Grandpa?”
He looked in and he could feel his heart stopped. His grandpa was lying on his side on the floor with his left hand clutching tightly to his
chest.
“Grandpa!!!!!”
He kneeled beside his grandpa’s lifeless body, his tears sprung out uncontrollably. Kazuya didn’t dare to touch him.
“Grandpa?”
“Shhh… Kazuya… it’s going to be okay.”
“But… but…”
“Calm down. I already called the ambulance.”
He tried to calm down but couldn’t. His hands are shaking and he felt cold.
“Jin…” Kazuya whimpered and he missed the spark in Jin’s eyes.
“I know Sho-kun. He’s going to be okay.” Jin whispered soothingly, clasping his hand in a comforting squeeze.
“He’s going to be okay.”
……………………………………………………………………………………………….
Kazuya practically glared at the other person on the bed.
“You scared me!”
“I’m sorry.”
“I did say that he’s going to be okay,” Jin chimed in.
He blushed slightly when he remembered what happened before but chose to ignore it.
“Thank god it’s nothing serious.”
His grandpa smiled at him sheepishly. And Kazuya continued to nag.
“You know that you can’t eat too much, but you did.”
“I’m sorry…” his grandpa apologized for the umpteenth time.
“Don’t you dare pull that kind of stunt again,” Kazuya sniffed loudly.
Hi s grandpa sighed softly, inching towards him.
“I’m already an old man Kazu-chan.”
Kazuya looked at him defiantly. “What do you mean grandpa?”
The elderly man smiled turning to look at Jin that was standing at the hospital corridor in front of the door, having a deep conversation in the phone.
“When you’re old you started to regret about a few things.”
Kazuya bit his lip and his grandpa smile got wider as he gestured at the third figure at the door.
“Do what your heart tells you.”
