CHAPTER 8
Kazuya frowned when he saw Jin’s choice of transportation. Jin raised a brow, handing him a helmet.
“Jin-kun, take care of Kazu-chan won’t you?”
His frown got deeper when he turned to the door. His grandpa was beaming widely waving at them.
“I will, Sho-kun!” Jin replied back a big smile on his face.
Sighing, Kazuya took the helmet and gingerly placed it on his head buckling it. Jin had started the engine and looked at him expectantly. Knowing that he couldn’t run away from this, he climbed onto the bike, gets himself comfortable and before he could warned Jin about the speed, Jin pulled his arms and placed them around his waist.
“Hold on tight.”
Eh? Wha-
Jin speeds off and nothing he could do but clings onto Jin for his dear life.
“Are you trying to kill us both?” Kazuya snapped when they finally reached their destination.
“I like the speed. Don’t you like it?” Jin asked nonchalantly taking off his helmet, and rearranging his hair back.
He actually does like the speed, the feel of the wind against his skin but no, he wouldn’t admit it in front of the other. He was too proud.
“No.” He replied back.
Jin smiled at his reply. “You know, I could see your face from the side mirror. You enjoy it don’t you?”
Busted.
Kazuya glared. “Yeah, I am and not because of holding you. Get it?”
Jin just chuckled, taking the knapsack from him. “I don’t mention about holding me.”
Kazuya narrowed his eyes at the other menacingly and that was when he realized their surroundings. It’s the lake that he had seen from Jin’s house. Kazuya gaped in awe at the view for the second time.
“I know that you’re going to like the place!” Jin’s voice broke his trance and it reminded him of their conversation before. Now that he thinks of it, this really looks like a date. Not the kind of guy friends hanging out it’s more like boyfriend-girlfriend date. As he watched Jin took out the things from the knapsack he could feel himself blushed. He actually had made a lot for the day. Bento. And it seems like he was looking forward for the said ‘date’.
Jin looked at him, wiggling his brows and a smile as if challenging him. Taking the challenge though he wasn’t sure what the challenge was, he practically stomped towards the other and plopped ungracefully onto the grass in front of the older man.
The weather was nice for a picnic and he frowned at the thought. Are they really only going to sit here and eat?
“No, I’m not going to do anything bad towards you. Stop frowning already.” Jin said almost tiredly.
Kazuya looked at Jin feeling rather guilty. Jin was being nice to him though he does get onto his nerves sometimes with his remarks but Jin was nice to bring him here.
“I’m so-…”
Jin clasped his mouth. “I don’t want to hear your apologies.”
Kazuya bit his lip when Jin pulled his hand away with a warm smile on his face. “Let’s just talk shall we?”
He swore he could feel his breath hitched by the sight. Jin is beautiful.
Admitting it already?
Kazuya ignored his inner voice though he really wanted to deny the fact. But thinking a lot about it would worsen his mood and he didn’t want to ruin everything when Jin had looked… happy.
“WHAT!!!!????”
Kazuya cringed by Jin’s high-pitched voice. He stared at the other with a bored expression.
“It’s not that big deal.”
“It is!” Jin looked at him in disbelief and slightly… hurt? He couldn’t put a finger on it. “You let Pi kissed you?!”
Kazuya sighed. “We were just messing around. It’s nothing serious.”
Jin looked at him strangely. “It is.” He said in a serious tone. “Pi is a best friend of mine.”
“Well, it’s not that I know that he is your best friend. He’s a good friend of mine too.”
Kazuya looked at the other and he felt a slight tug at his chest. It feels like he had done something wrong. But he is sure that he didn’t. Pi do mentioned about a certain ‘Bakanishi’ but he didn’t expect it to be the man in front of him.
He sighed. Why does it always turn out like this? They could be happy and laughing at first and then awkward silence the next. Having the urge to make it up to the other though he didn’t know why, he reached out his hand.

Jin stared at the hand placed atop his. Then he turned to look at the owner of the said hand. The owner blushed slightly but didn’t pull away.
“I don’t want to ruin this,” Kazuya said quite stubbornly and it made him smile.
“You never did change do you?”
When he looked the uneasiness on the other’s face, he regretted saying it.
“Why?” Kazuya suddenly asked. “Why I can’t recall anything about you?”
Jin gripped Kazuya’s hand tightly as if Kazuya would run away when he told the other why. His conscience is telling him not to tell but he couldn’t keep it to himself anymore.
“Because…”
Kazuya looked at him expectantly. Jin took a deep breath and his heart started to beat furiously.
“Because… I wanted you to…”
....................................................................
Jin inched slowly towards the curled figure in front of him. He remembered the time when his grandma said that he was special. That he could take people pains away. He had always thought that it was only his grandma affections towards him but right now he wished that it was true.
He could feel Kazuya flinched by his touch but he ignored it as he cupped the other’s face. He wouldn’t know if it works but he really meant it when he said,
“Just forget me if it takes your pain away…”
