[EVENT BROADCAST]

Jun 20, 2009 03:16

[ hello, city. it's a wonderful day, isn't it? the televisions seem to think so -- because no matter where you are, what's going on, all the television sets around you will flicker to life, whether they were on or not. the screen trembles, then displays an almost painfully white background with a single stark-black letter emblazoned in the center. the symbol for the Alpha, some might recognize. ]

Greetings and salutations to all citizens in Neo Genesis! It has been a rough half year, hasn’t it? But, aaah, do not fret, my dear city, because I had a dream -- [ static static static kssszzhzhhhh ] -- that there was a goat with red high heels and maybe, maybe it wasn’t a dream after all. But how are you all?

[ a round of terribly fake cheering noise, a medley of happy stock noises, as well as a chorus of "We're all well, Alpha, how about you?" ]

Oh me? I’m doing fine. I had such a wonderful day yesterday. I went to the forest and fell down a hole, there were colours everywhere and a great many little people who climbed onto my shoulders.

[ another burst of almost-deafening static]

You were all there! All of us! Holding hands. And, I have very good news --

[ the image flickers, blitz, suddenly turns goes blank for a few moments before steadying ]

Now now, we can see you. Don't worry, we can see your every move. We will take care of you, but I have very very good news: The new Alpha cola is out!

[ the image suddenly pans to a commercial. the screen shows a young woman nestling a can of cola to her breasts in an obviously enticing manner. "Oh, I do love some Alpha cola!" she exclaims -- but each word makes the screen flicker and tremble, the camera zooming in and out of her face seemingly at random. ]

[ again, there's the round of (fake fake fake) recorded cheering to accompany the screenful of static, and a voice shouting away from the mic: ] What do you mean my ass looks fat in this dress! [ the voice seems directed at the mic once more, the screen steadying itself once more. ]

Yes, we understand each of our citizens. All 79 of you, your mothers must be very proud. [ And right after that, there is a very low "Not" ]

Now, let's watch some videos together! Get your popcorn ready!

OOC - Event Information
For 7 days, starting now, your regularly scheduled programming will be interrupted by 1-2 minute clips of video. What's being aired on television are the true memories of the characters of NG. No explanation is given and for some reason no one at the television stations has noticed this anomaly. Some clips will air repeatedly over the course of the week, so you have a chance to sit down and watch everyone else's memories, playing right there on TV.

Reply to this post with either a text description or a video clip (or comic pages, if you like) of what will be shown on television. Remember, it can only be 1-2 minutes long. This must be your own character's memory, and it should be a memory that is either embarrassing or horrifying. That is, you can either choose a memory in which your character makes a fool of themselves or experiences or commits an act that is genuinely upsetting. It's all about entertaining television, after all.

And remember that everyone can see this. Don't pick a significant memory if you're not ready for people to react to it.

Questions can also go in this post. Break a leg, kids.
