I think it'd be great for you to open up an etsy account to sell artwork! At least maybe set up print to sell on DA if you haven't already... I know that DA takes a portion of what you sell, but at the same time why the hell not? Get yourself known out there and create a fanbase! Seriously!

I'm not entirely well known outside of the Minneapolis area, BUT even becoming known in the local community is always a huge plus. Just this past weekend I got about $700 in commission work from local people on top of the avatar work... and then there's school work after that, buuuut I'm not getting paid for that, so it doesn't count XD.

Don't doubt yourself! That's the last thing that you wanna do! Pimp yourself like you're the Queen of the Universe! Doesn't matter if you feel that way right away or not. Confidence in your work is your number one seller!

No it does help. I've actually even had tourists at my job "ordering" me to get like, an ebay account or something to sell art there. I guess it just comes down to the fact that I'm fine talking about it and making it, but when it comes to marketing myself I completely clam up. I'm just not a salesperson (which is really weird considering I've been in retail for almost 10 years, LOL

See there, you're already making a small following for yourself! Bring your business cards to work and hand them out unless your boss frowns upon that. But, either way, its worth a shot
