My dad brought up the same question. My mom wants me to make a stink out of it... but just my luck, that'll probably be the reason I don't get the job. Though... the lady did say something about the union and having to pay $75 dollars and taking out six in change... but heaven knows what that all means...

Ask. I know you want the job, but they really can't play with you like this - for your sake, or theirs. If they're doing something illegal to you, chances are you aren't the only one.
