About the message boards..
You're being paranoid, hun. People do read and reply to your posts. And I'd be careful what you say, I'm one of those spammers, and I'm pry gonna become a mod too. If you're not taken as seriously as the others it's probably because of your grammar. There have been a lot of annoying newbs coming in (not saying you're one of them) but, if you don't type properly, some people might think you'd one of them.
Minus the newbs, I myself love the boards. It was better at E-Zboard. It's a great community...
As for the galleries, I feel your pain, I really do. But I'm gonna stay anyway.
I've been to Side 7 and I don't like it... and I've heard bad things about VCL... but DevArt is pretty good. I could help ya out if ya want.
And it depends where you put your topics, also. And who replies.

woah.. im not to paranoid about the messageboards, and I do try to type things properly, the gallery is what bugs me, i dont update lately because i know what will hapen, noobs see an update and all of em move thier albums up ahead of mine without updating, and i said CONSIDERED i doubt i would use that place, im just looking around.
