true! despite my overwhelmingly utilitarian leanings. often i feel guilty about spending money on a new poster/cd/art supplies instead of, say, food or clothing that is useful. but then i realize how shitty life is without the "transfiguring" art object. i have to remind myself by reading 'The Birth of Tragedy' every once in a while. and again you write beautifully!
