A thought for today:

(2:57:34 PM) kalimonster: It's weird. The ads for Dragon Age make me want the game liek woah, and then the screenshots just leave me clammy.

(2:57:58 PM) kalimonster: I think 'realistic' game graphics have hit my uncanny valley.

I think 'realistic' game graphics have hit my uncanny valley.

Aion keeps throwing me for a loop when I realize the cutscenes aren't pre-rendered.

That's something I could get in a feisty debate over at some point (not necessarily with you; we may well agree on this point) -- were cutscenes enriched or worsened when "cutscenes rendered with in-game engine!" became part of the supposed selling-point?

I think they took a kick to the nuts, and still haven't recovered.

Well, considering all of the cutscenes include my custom created character as the protagonist, I give that factor a big plus.

Tangent: you play Diablo-y games, right? Are you by any chance planning on playing Borderlands?

Cool. My pre-load-download-thing just finished, actually. What possessed me to buy it and Aion at the same time, I have no idea, but it was occuring to me that it would be significantly more fun blowing up mutants with others.

A sizeable handful of the Warhammer crew will have Borderlands as well, so our dance cards should be well-filled.
