That's rather disappointing to hear. I'm happy that you were able to recover with little fuss.

To answer an earlier reply, I'm glad you're doing well. Nothing too exciting has happened. I've been warming up to the Wii.

At first I disliked the Wii. I didn't like the concept and thought that I'd get tired and bored with wailing my arms around to play a video game. Then we got one and after a few game rentals I'm now pleased and yes it is fun to play.

To help prevent against further infection, download IE7 Pro from http://www.ie7pro.com/

It is a plugin for Internet Explorer that will disable ads and flash from starting up on websites. I have been using it for a good while now and have had no problems with it.

I have ads enabled on my LJ, but don't see any because IE7 Pro disabled them.

That's still bad that people are putting viruses on ads for LJ. Glad that C Eagle was able to help you!

Thanks for the advice, and I was kind hope that FireFox will be able to disable ads, I heard that the function is there. I have already disabled flash, but this Trojan/Backdoor/virus/malware is java based.

Yeah! It is really sad that those people turn the web into a minefield. :(

Yes! I am really happy that the setup by C Eagle really helped big time. :D

Ouch. Does the virus infect your computer from the just the image being on LJ or from clicking the link on the image?

Just the image being on LJ, as the ads been loaded onto LJ's page and triggered some java based malware, then all hell break loose. Whatever it is, very likely it is hidden in the ads. Besides, I never click on those ads links, it is safer that way... till now that is... :(

In last month's PC World Magazine, LiveJournal has been mentioned as one of the companies that keep in contact with who ever is selling the malware that hacker makes. But I don't know who is hide those malware in ads and other web contents and trying to steal people's info.

With any luck, I guess I found one... :(
