Angel wasn't Grelle's biological daughter, but you certainly couldn't have guessed that just by looking at her.

"Ladies! And! Gentlemen!" She had perched herself atop a footrest in the living room, projecting her voice like a circus ringmaster. She punctuated each word with the skyward jab of a finger.

"Um, Miss Angel?" Finny's voice cautiously drifted over from the couch. "There aren't any ladies here..."

True. Ronald and Finny were there at the Spears' lovely home, babysitting Angel while William and Grelle went out on one of their Friday night dates.

Angel seemed to take this observation under deep consideration before flipping her mother's feather boa around her little shoulders two or three more times and moving on to the next order of business.

"Tonight..." She paused for emphasis. "We will be playing...house!"

Ronald groaned. "Wouldn't you rather play with Uncle Ronnie's ponies, Angel?"

Angel looked at him as one might look at an earthworm drowning on a rainy sidewalk.

"Ponies are for babies, Uncle Ronnie. I'm already three years old!"

"Uncle Ronnie still plays with ponies..." Finny offered gently.

"And that's while he'll be the baby tonight," Angel asserted confidently, "Uncle Finny and I will be the daddy and the mommy."

"H-hey, wait a min--"

"What color will our house be, Miss Angel?" Finny interrupted Ronald's cries of protest before Angel could take notice. Ronald simply pouted.

The tiny cherub became lost in thought, as though contemplating the very meaning of life.

"Peppermint-color." She decided finally, with a sage nod of her head. Her golden ringlets bounced.

"Will we have any pets?"

At this, Angel grinned.

"Only my faithful steed, Cardenio!" She hopped off the footrest and straddled the big white Samoyed, who merely raised his head and whuffled before going back to sleep.

Ronald attempted to reclaim control of the situation.

"Angel, wouldn't it make more sense for you to be the baby? Uncle Finny and I could be the mommy and daddy..."

"You would look silly in a dress, Uncle Ronnie."

Finny dissolved into giggles at this, and Ronald gave a soft sigh of resignation before allowing a smile to spread across his face as well. Finny's laugh was one of his favorite sounds in the whole world.

"Mama! Papa!"

Two hours had passed and the sound of the garage door opening had alerted Angel to her parents' return. Sure enough, less than a minute later, William and Grelle entered through the kitchen, bedecked in their formal best.

"Hello, sweetie!" Grelle's voice took on the sugary-sweet tone it always did when talking to her beloved daughter. "Did mummy's precious baby behave herself tonight?"

Angel extricated herself from her mother's bear hug to reply. "Mmhm!"

William smiled and gave her an affectionate pat on the head. Angel took hold of his hand and began spinning beneath it like a ballerina.

"Uncle Finny and I got married." She offered, still spinning.

"Oh?" Grelle had sat down in an armchair, gingerly removing her high heels after giving a wave to their babysitters still seated on the couch.

"Uncle Ronnie was the baby."

"That would explain the simply fetching bonnet he's got on, wouldn't it?"

"Psh, I make this bonnet look good."

"You should wear it to our next office party." William mused, smirking.

"But then me and Uncle Finny got divorced." Angel continued, ceasing her spinning to put both hands on her hips for emphasis.

"Oh dear!" Grelle exclaimed, in mock horror. "Whatever happened?"

"Well." Angel's voice took on a stiff, officious tone. Clearly her father had had his due influence on the child as well. "He wouldn't bake me any cookies."

"Scandal!" Grelle gasped, placing her hands on her knees and leaning forward with gusto. "Absolutely worth ending a marriage over, I agree."

After everyone had said their thank-yous and goodbyes, Ronald and Finny began making their way back home to the apartment they now shared together. Ronald's moped was currently in the shop from when some idiot college student had dinged it in the parking deck, so they were headed toward a nearby bus stop.

"You're really good with kids." Finny said, after a brief silence.

"Huh? Yeah, I guess. The whole 'fun uncle' act always came pretty naturally. Used to score me some major brownie points with the ladies at wor--" He cut himself off here, realizing that perhaps discussing past romantic exploits in front of his boyfriend wasn't exactly the best idea.

"Mister Sebastian and the young master are thinking about it." Finny responded.

Ronald blinked.

"Thinking about what?"

"Having a child. Now that Angel's all settled in, I mean."

"...Oh, I see." Ronald's brow furrowed for a moment. "Wait, I don't see. How? Are they just gonna look for another aband--"

Finny shrugged, cutting him off. They had arrived at the bus stop by now and seated themselves on the cold metal bench.

"Guess it's one of those demon biology...thingies."

Ronald smirked. "Maybe they're like seahorses."

Finny laughed at that and Ronald's heart skipped a beat like it always did.

"Hey, Finny?" He asked after a while.

"Yeah?"

"You don't ever think about wanting kids, do you?"

Finny shook his head gently. "Nah... All I need to be happy is you." He turned those sea-green eyes on Ronald and smiled brightly.

"Jeez, blondie." Ronald flushed bright red at his boyfriend's candor. How he could say such embarrassing things and mean every syllable of it, he'd never know.

And if they were still kissing by the time the bus pulled up, well... Who the hell cared.

A/N: Yay, I finally get to write about Angel! She'll be included in the main story soon, so I'd been holding off until then. You'll find out the how and why of her adoption in an upcoming fanfiction, I'd wager. ;)
