I think Daniel and I might have finally fixed my computer. We looked up a bunch of stuff on how to get rid of the Google Redirect Virus, which involved downloading some things, deleting more things, etc ( Read more... )

"I just didn't know he quit refusing."

He never refused. He was just obliged by the production team to say vague "well, maybe someday"s for 18 months while they got around to working with him! =:o} WHen the story got postoned from Season 5 to Season 6, he said "well alright then, but *only* I'm finally allowed to tell people I'm doing one!", to which Moffat said "yeah, sure". So Neil announced that he was doing one, and various places started reporting that he was... Except for the BBC's official publicity machine, which hadn't got the latest memo and *refused to confirm it*, thereby making Neil look like he was telling fibs!

(The above being my paraphrase from memory of the relevant chunk of the great interview with him in the latest DWM.)

"Amy and Rory being chased through the corridors of the TARDIS was creepy. Too bad the only time we've been shown the rest of the TARDIS now is when it's all scary. I wonder what it's like when it's not posessed by an evil spirit.Ah, but that was Neil's cunning plan to *force* them to actually ( ... )

It's a rule that if you are being chased through scary corridors, you must split up.

In addition, if you are female, you will be compelled to take a shower (while your male associate is being eviscerated), and give the creature time to prepare for your demise.

Yeah, there's this one part where Rory's like, "You wait here, I'll be right back," and I was practically yelling at Amy, "NO! Don't listen to him!" but she DID.

And they got split up MORE THAN ONCE! You'd think after the first time went so bad they would be more careful.

The Google Re-direct virus is nasty, but beatable.

You may be able to check out Ananzi Boys in audio format from the library. The voice actor who reads it is awesome!

I like the Doctor getting things wrong.

I liked that too.

I also like where he explains some complicated thing ("like two cars parked in the same space"), and then admits that it's not really like that at all

Noo, I hated that! It was OK the first time they did it, but they keep repeating it. I don't like repeated jokes very much at the best of times, and this one just isn't that funny.

in a show that at least used to be famous for its high body count

Maybe he's harking back to the sixties, when the body count was much lower.

I wonder what it's like when it's not posessed by an evil spirit.

Well, you could watch the first two episodes of Castrovalva and get bored to death. Otherwise try Inside the Spaceship aka The Edge of Destruction and The Invasion of Time.

Well... I wouldn't mind if he quit doing it now. ;-)

Oh yeah, I forgot about The Invasion of Time. Now I'm trying to remember what the TARDIS looked like in there and can't. Except I remember that it has a swimming pool.

A lot of it was bear brickwork, which was controversial among fans at the time. That was because they filmed it on location (at a former psychiatric hospital, perhaps appropriately) and presumably couldn't afford to dress the rooms. The auxilliary power room was disguised as an art gallery, which was nice.

That should be *bare* brickwork. No *bears* were harmed at all in the making of this production.
