15 minutes

Everything's relative, you know?  15 minutes between the alarm and the snooze this morning was almost pure torture- i was so comfy and wanted to roll over and doze off for a few minutes, but my sinuses decided that they still hate me and I had to get up after just a couple minutes.  This past weekend, though, 15 minutes withg Rich's mom and I feel ( Read more... )

It was great to see you guys, even if only for a little while. Hope you don't mind a few words of advice from someone who's been in about a dozen weddings over the years -- as ringbearer, usher, groomsman, best man, and bride-giver-away-er -- and who's helped plan a few ( ... )

I'm sorry I was so out of it on Saturday. I think maybe I took too many allergy and cold drugs... It was good to see you though, even through the chemical haze I was in.

Actually I've got the old/new/borrowed/blue thing covered: the dress is new and the garter is old, blue, AND borrowed! My mom and both her sisters wore it, and I think their mother did too... but I might be misrecalling that part. :P

Can I still be a crazy cat lady though? I've been really good!

Having met a number of crazy cat ladies in my life, I'd say marriage does nothing to deter that behavior from manifesting. :)

Haha. What kind of music are you looking for? I can send you a mix CD if you'd like.

well, like I said we have giant robot anime themes and a couple of Korean rock songs (and Jonathan Coulton.) I think we need some more danceable tunes, and stuff that the older members of our families would like, but you know, we're pretty open to suggestions. And I need some Rain for Rich's mom. ;) (I think she thinks he's cute.) (She'd be right, after all.)

It's all going to end up in an iTunes playlist on 'random' so yanno. :P

I'm giving you this song because it's one of my all-time faves that will be in the running for "first dance" songs at my wedding:

Now, I know that on the surface it's about Pluto and Charon, but when you listen to the lyrics, it's about two people who may be a little different from everyone else around them, but that's okay because they will always be together.

Happy wedding, you two. Please put up a bridal registry thinger when you can!

Ooooh! I totally forgot to write that one down! It came up on Rich's iPod the other day and we both agreed that it's awesome. I love Jonathan Coulton. :)

We actually do already have registries up- one at Macy's and one at Amazon. I think you look them up with our names and the date of the wedding.... I'm not sure, not having to look them up and all. If that doesn't work let us know?

Hey you!

I really like your idea of the wedding being about more than just the bride and groom. It is, obviously, about the bride and groom. But the reason why you're throwing a party is because you're saying, "Hey look! We're bride and groom! We're insanely excited about that, and we'd like you to be insanely excited about it too!" Or at least, that's my take. Maybe your feelings are a bit different (and if so, please correct me), but it sounds like that's sort of what you're saying.

Also? You have lots of poise and charm, and I'm sure you will make people happy to be at your wedding.
