Dreaming of HHWWt - How lewd. The "t" is a typo... really! frfr

Another round of it's been a while again LJ, I can't seem to get the habit of updating you periodically. I guess that's a story for a different day, for the meantime let's dive into this dream of mine before I forget all of it.
Let's a go!

Woke up with a stuffy nose and a mouth gasping for water, wanting to cough but having a hard time to execute. It's the transitioning period of sunny days to rainy days, so while the sun is not that all and about, the insane heat is still there partnered in the humidity and it's begging to sweat like buckets. Still feeling dazed, I went straight to the johns and excreted, brushed my teeth, gargled, then ziplined to the kitchen for a glass of cold water after washing my hands of course. Wait, did I wash my hands?

After getting a grip of my senses, I looked at my hand an pondered on why the feeling wasn't the same. In one of my wildest dreams ways back a decade ago or more, there was that lingering feeling of me hand holding a female friend's hand. The warmth, the soft and smooth skin, the tight of the grip, it felt like it actually happened. Of course, that's another story for another day but I can't help compare the feeling.

Wow, three paragraphs in and I'm still not in story-telling mode. What's wrong with me LJ? Well, maybe because of the comparison that I find this recent dream a bit lacking and, in some sense, uneventful? Sure, I did saw a lot of faces, but I didn't actually interact with them as I was more of focused on the destination rather the experience that I was going through. We held hands and that was it. The girl I was with, was one of those I loved before. Shocker, right? And before you go gung-ho of telling me I'm still not over her or whatever- well as a friend, yes. We're still friends, and I'm already okay with that. She has a boyfriend now; when I met her she had one- told myself not to fall for her because of that, still fell for her, stayed at the sidelines, then decided to move on, they broke up- like what the hell? just when I convinced myself to move on you drop that? Oi. I was a bit torn but since the other girl tried pursuing wasn't exactly available anymore, I kind of half-heartedly went back.

Damn, back story. And I'm still not taking about my dream! All this lore and build up for naught. Seriously LJ, what am I doing wrong here? Anyway, for context let's call the woman I was in the dream with Margarita and we're supposed to walk which I believe from the office to our friend who lives nearby. There's a couple of shared friends that I can think of but for some reason, in the dream, I can make out who in darn tarnation are we going to visit. It seemed like one of those closely knit barkada, but not really? I mean, the dream overlords were probably too lazy to assign an actual person and generated someone random instead. Anyway, time to really dive in. This time for realzies. I mean this is a supposed to be a story-telling post. Try to keep your snide comments self. Please? Oh right, side-tracking again. Jumping in.. now!
Story time frfr

The scene opens up a on a busy street a few blocks away from the office. It's where all the salarymen and women go to for either cheap food from the side vendors or hitch a ride as there's also a jeepney/bus stop. Margarita was feeling a bit reserve with walking but is excited to see her friend, our friend. I was feeling a bit detached as the idea of walking was too tiresome but at the same time adventurous. We could have hailed a cab or hitch on one of the jeepneys but the expense won't justify the effort of having to arrive at the location longer. There's a shortcut through the back alleyways and our friend recommended to take as it is the best route to her place.

I tried to walk behind as I was a bit clueless of the route and just mellowed in with the crowd trying to mind my business letting Margarita navigate. We walked by a food stop that occupied the whole walkway. The smell of freshly cooked food and the munching eater were a bit enticing but the idea of by the road where all the smoke from the cars and jeepneys that pass by and the hurried workers was a bit off throwing. It would be better at the dead of the night during work lunch hours when there would less traffic. She looked back at me while pointing to lady at the counter swapping out an almost empty tray of food for a fresh batch nudging the idea of what snacks we might have at our friend's place.

She asked if I knew the way, and I just shook my head. I mean, I got the notes from our friend and tried to trace it via Google Maps, but there was no entry on the alleyway down to another road. She already went through it one time, so it was best to let her stay on front. Sadly, she was having doubts as the memory of her going through was overshadowed by their girl talks. As we approach a set of stairs leading down, I figured it might as well be that one shortcut. She was a bit hesitant and just urged me to lead the way. Breathing out a sigh, I gave in and head down first. It was mixed of steps and inclines and zigzagging through houses that makes you think how can someone live in such a thin and small space. As we reached a clearing, we could see the streets below and somewhat an idea on how to reach our friend's place. It was brief respite and one can argue a great view- of poverty; I kid.

As we moved forward, we noticed the path started to become narrower as if both houses from each side could kiss already. The towering houses are blocking out the sun casting off a cool shade, but would look really shady at night. We started walking briskly away from that sussy part of the shortcut. We had an inkling that taking our sweet time might conjure to some shady dealings so instinctively dashed and treated it like a race. Last one out is a rotten egg, they say.

After alighting another set of stairs, the narrow pathway gradually turned into a regular street as we reached the lower part of the city. There was steep incline and it felt like I would slide and fall off towards the main road, that it made me nauseous and I walked back in panic and almost bumped into her. She tried to calm down and we tried to analyze the road when suddenly an old man walks by and greeted us. The old man proceeded down and greeted another elderly woman who was cleaning the outside of her house. For some reason the incline wasn't that steep anymore. I reached for her hand as we followed the old man to the main road.

We then reached the busy area, a central hub of sorts. There was a building right by the edge which resembles of a barangay office as there were staff workers going about holding papers. Beside it at the center, was a pop-up market filled with booths and stalls selling a variety of dresses, accessories, gadgets, and food. There was also a place to sit down for talking, resting, and eating. We took a five at one the benches, as we looked around amazed by the bustling center. Since it was relatively near the office, there were a couple of co-workers around as well, assume they took residence in the area as well. At one side, there was someone who reminded me of Kristel, who was then labelled as a teacher's pet, kind of a snitch who's quick to point out other's faults while presenting herself clean to the uppers. She was enjoying a talk with other co-workers from a different department and was making herself the center of attention. Margarita and I just shrugged it off and chuckled thinking of Kristel's alleged rumors. On the other side was Chantelle who no longer works for the company but was present regardless. She's the type to make a big deal of everything and incites drama as like Kristel, wanted to be at the center of everything. She was rambling on with work life balance and how her current supervisors weren't that lenient despite the company promising a better atmosphere. Margarita gave a breath of sigh feeling a bit disappointed to someone she treated motherly, then looks back at me and smiled. Both of their presence was a bit unexpected but their actions were just like how we’d talk about them. I smirked back then took her hand again, indicating it was time to go on.

The place wasn't that crowded, but it was enough to separate parties who weren't paying attention, which is why I instinctively grabbed her hand as we navigated through the crowd. In one instance, she almost bumped into a stranger when I casually twirled her around like we were dancing. We both chuckled then quickly shrug it off as we set our eyes toward the main building. As we entered, the inside definitely looked like a government office, filled with people queuing up to be attended next, with staff looking bored rumbling through papers and documents, to the photocopying machine constantly making its noise. Near the exit was a mailroom of sorts, and we were amazed on how organize the staff were. The stack of envelops neatly boxed and categorized, to the presentable uniform the mail men were wearing, all of it were eye pleasing and oddly satisfying. We bowed and exited met up with our friend who was waiting for us. She commented on how good we look together like old times but was quick to dismiss it. She asked how our lives are doing, and our significant others.

And that's about it. I did wake up feeling dry yet felt like getting a cold, but again that was it. It kinda felt empty and as much as I want to dig deeper on to it, I'll probably just talk it over on a different post. I just wanted this to be more of a story telling rather than a reflection as this specific post took me the whole day to type. It didn't help that I had other dreams within the day while juggling and struggling on how to go on with the day.

Anyway, that's it for me it took long, but it is what it is. I'll just have to see you again next time. Ciao~
