Fic: Just Let the Water Win

Feb 27, 2010 18:14

There are some things you get used to when you’re dating one of Poseidon’s kids.  You measure an argument in inches of rainfall, and are secretly thrilled if you make it to the evening news.  You spend rather longer in the shower than you used to, and who can blame you, because you know that nobody has a shower quite like yours.  So you buy an ( Read more... )

oh my gods. this is so beautiful.

okay, going back and fishing out phrases that particularly tickled, i was too caught up to quote while reading, so.

...and you always know where your towel is. roffles, you. icwydt.
At least he doesn’t seem partial between the twins; he’s an exhibitionist with either.
it’s sickeningly easy to love him
his body that wears its hip bones and vertebra like medals.
It’s as though Percy has invisible wings that the water is following, ruffling his feathers.
If one were being generous, one might call it an island. Nico would call it a rock.
so much skin bleeding sex and sweat and life into him.
love and fucking in a hundred shades of blue.
The water follows his fingers up Nico’s thighs, and supports them, high, around Percy’s waist. SUCH a fantastic idea.

and, like. all the rest of it, too, but those are just beautiful images that really stuck with me. A++, gorgeous. mem'd.

Oh my <3

Remind me what I did to deserve you, and I promise to do it again!

You pull out the phrases I love most, like you can hear me thinking I hope someone gets this line , especially love and fucking in a hundred shades of blue. Damn, girl; thank you so much.

I have no idea what the fandom is but I know this is written by a lady who knows where her towel is.

So very sensual. Your words always take me right to the scene.

I haven't seen the movie yet and only vaguely know the mythology (hey that was AGES ago for me LOL) but this was gorgeous! I loved all the water imagery and now the water responded to Percy. And it's clear despite everything that Nico adores him. *whispers* and it was hot :)

Thank you, sweetie :D I adore Nico, so I'm glad his love of Percy came through (and glad it was hot, I always worry about these things).

Firstly, wow. Pretty.
Secondly- aww, Percy/Nico. This has to be my OTP for this series (and I’m v. sad that the film was not at all slashable, except in terms of Zeus and Poseidon clearly getting it on in a violent and aggressive way on top of the Empire State building *g*) and there simply isn’t enough of it. So, yays for this! :D

I love the towel reference. We should all know where our towels are…and if we could all have a cute demi-god to play with that would just be a bonus…*g* And the thought of the gods being pissed off by Ancient Egyptian symbols is perversely enjoyable. And the boys are so sweet together…

That's true. I fail. I should comment more, must remember that *g* It's such a pretty fandom, specially when you start thinking about all the gay sex the Greeks got up to and how much the gods went about sleeping with anything that moved (and probably quite a few things that didn't) and how much you can use that to mess with Percy's life :D

I want to live in this comment. It has made my week, no word of a lie. You, who are such a wonderful writer, you praise me this way? I want to curl up in your words like a blanket, like a shield against interviews and discrimination and homesickness.

It makes perfect sense. You make perfect sense <3
