I love it! How do you do the gradient and get it so it doesnt bleed?

well it did bleed, that's why it turned purple. I was originally just dying it pink and I used a really dark blue. by chance it just happened to turn out this way? Im not sure if it would duplicate it if you did what I did.

sorry for all the questions, Im interested in doing this, but I dont want to end up with brown from it mixing haha So you used just pink blue and aqua? When you washed did you do anything special so it wouldnt all blend into one color? It looks so cool :)

Ive had a professional helping me with my hair since I was 10, so from early on I knew how to do kind of professional hair in my own house.

maybe just try one shade of blue and one shade of purple, or if I were you I'd just mix purple and pink and try and make them fade into eachother (wash them kind of together) but I dont know if you should really do something this complex without knowing what youre doing.

so just take it easy at first, keep it simple, I did at first, only after 9 years did I start dying it crazy complex colours like this.

QUESTION anonymous January 26 2010, 03:22:09 UTC
does the hair need to be bleached first so that the colors will be intense like that?

Yes, it's best for it to be bleached first although on dark blonde or normal blonde hair, not from what I've seen.

But the lighter your hair is, the more intense it is. As I said in my original post, the SFX Atomic Pink was dyed over a hideous reddish orange colour and it still was incredibly pink and lasted insanely long in comparison to other dyes.

Hey I know this post is all from a while ago but I was wondering if you dye and wash each color separately? Like do the pink then wash it, then do blue then wash it, then do light blue then wash it? To prevent it all from washing together and bleeding all over?

no I do it all at once! hence why it did wash all together and bleeding all over :D
