I got a promo copy of VNV last night so I decided to listen to it on the way to work this morning... I wasn't expecting much since I heard about half the tracks were instrumentals

Yea, I only gave it a quick listen this morning but I really liked the dance tracks... the other stuff not-so-much but I'm not a huge fan of theirs so it's probably not a fair assessment.
I still enjoy them, and they're really nice guys. Seeing them live is fun because I like watching them interact with a crowd. It's unusual to see artists in the electronic genre move a large room of people like they do.
I just downloaded it. I skimmed through the tracks real quick. So far I like it, I'll give a more detailed response tonight after I have a chance to listen at work a few times.
I Like Chrome, Arena, Entropy and Perpetual just fine. They are pretty standard VNV tracks. The programming and drum loops are different this time around, and a welcome change but its still VNV. The instrumentals Strata, Interceptor and Lightwave are very nice, but very Trance. VNV always has instrumentals, and many of them are really damn good.
I like the album, but I like Techno just as much if not more than most Industrial.
the problem with the techno tracks is that the sounds just dont blend together... i think its song 5.. great song... until the break... atari analog sound doesnt match with the thickness of the track. At all. I find it to be annoying... but then again its "industrial" so i guess they had to have someone banging on an empty can somewhere.
