That was just heartbreaking. It's so well written and that's what makes it worse. I absolutely loved it, but gah... Sam. Dean just wants his brother, and it's difficult to have a carer and a brother.
I haven't actually read the first part of this. I shall find it and fall in love, I'm sure.
Aww, thank you so much! I think one of my favorite "compliments" is the declaration that my writing is "too real," because it means that I have done my research well. I'm so glad you liked this part so far, and do so hope you enjoy Redemption as well. FYI - there's actually prequel to the prequel called Retribution (over at fanfiction.net - guess I should bring it over here, sometime). You don't have to read that one to understand the Redemption arc because Redemption is actually an AU version of Retribution. But in case you're interested I figured I'd tell you! Thanks again!
I'm so glad you finally continued this story. This fic will always be special to me and I'm ready to wait for as long as it takes you to write =) The chap was so... intense, especially when it comes to their feelings... just awesome. Now I gotta go, I got something in my eye as well.

Thank you so much for your long & detailed comment. It truly makes a difference to get specific reactions to my writing! And thanks for continuing to stick with the story despite my molasses slow update time
( ... )
So glad to see that you've updated - THANKS! First of all - you've hit a few very sore spots with me and reading this story is like having a curtain lifted, unfortunately a few years late, but alas. What I meant to say is - very realistic writing here! As for your announcement in terms of updates - I think that is a great way to "warn" people and yet those who want to read get to read, I totally root for this. Take your time, find your pace, find your muse - you are a great writer and I think you have a really, really great story there. No need to hasten, it'll still be great years from now, no matter how long it took until it was finished. Thank you so much for this post!
