Pet Peeve

You know what drives me crazy? Fanfic writers who say something along the lines of "I refuse to update my story until I get 5 (10, 15, 30...) reviews."  What is that about?  The only things that make me drop a story faster are bad grammar, spelling, formatting, etc.  What those little hostage notes tell me is that the author isn't writing because

Oh man, that is something that has ALWAYS bugged me about fanfic writers, for those exact same reasons. If you're going to write fanfiction, do it because you enjoy it, not to stroke your own ego by demanding praise from others.

In any case, usually those kind of authors' fics are so poorly written they SHOULD feel like they need to beg for readers.^^;; Mean, but true.
