So 3 burns and a bunch of annoying wire cuts and soldering crap that turned out to not be needed and i find out that one of my hard drives is the loudest parts of my computer, probably meaning its getting too old, but i cant afford a new one, at least not the new one i want ( Read more... )

Yeah.. loud harddrive = realllyreallyreally bad.

....but I'm sure you knew that.

Either way.. if your data is important to you, getting a new one should be made the #1 item on your computer "to-buy" list.

well the problem is I plan on replacing everything soon enough so in a way it seems like it would almost be a waste of cash, or I would have to buy a hard drive I cant afford right now... so I dont know, but yeah. Its making a kind of electrical whine... is that maybe the motor crying? I dont know, I turned down my HDD cooler down to 5v, and as I stated took the PSU down to 5v, so I can hear the HDDs being accessed. My water pump... pumping... and I think I can maybe just barely pick up the airflowing through my radiator sound... But only that whine is really loud, the second loudest being a pump which is low pitched so I dont notice it unless im listening to it.
