So my mom and I were talking and we were trying to think if there was a word for the following phenomenon

i don't know what it's called, but when I was working at the zoo the other day a woman came in and said traffic had been horrible and I, of course inadvertantly, said "Yeah it's a zoo out there!" which made eveyone else laugh. I for one didn't find it all that clever. LOL
