check craigslist, they have great deals for cool furniture...also, haunt garage sales like a groupie at a rock show... it may not be new, but at least it will give you something to put in your place rather than orange crates...

Go total Japanese dorm room style, just a table for your computer and TV and maybe a chair and a desk...go hardcore single swinging bachelor too...stack ramen as high as it will go, create a second stack of used ramen cups, build a ramen cup fort. Don't limit yourself to conventionality Simmons.

Good luck with Sony or Nintendo!! You could always go to a thrift store for the essentials until you can buy better stuff.
