Yes, I too am nearing a graduation crossroads and it's a little scary but a lot exciting! I still haven't decided between [a] college in USA [b] college in Israel or [c] Tzahal. The trip to Israel did not help ground a decision for me, so I'm waiting for time to work its magic and for all the answers to come to me.
I'm glad to hear you have plans for longterm travel. My brother, one of whose degrees was in MidEast Studies too cited world travel as one of his most valuable experiences in life and in learning. Also, on the flight to Tel-Aviv I sat next to two guys who just got back from a year or so in South America and each of them had amazing stories to tell.
