Pie Sunday

Pie dough is frustrating. I tried a recipe that involved lots of sugar and butter and ground hazelnuts... and the damn resulting mess was too finicky to roll out properly. Maybe I'll try it again, but for now I am using my ancestor Ruby's pie crust recipe, which has a good deal more tolerance ( Read more... )

The Les Halles pie crust is very serviceable. Additionally, I got a parmesan-infused pie crust recipe from the BBC that turned out magnifient, though during the making it seemed dubious.
