Carbonara Friday
My sister gave me a recipe for pasta carbonara that I tried out last night. It was inspired by my having bought a lot of bacon, and casting out for ideas on what to do with it. Atomic buffalo poppers might also be in order, as recommended by aghrivaine

Pretzel Sunday
Wow, haven't posted in this space in a while.
Been having a pretty good time lifting with aghrivaine at a gym in Venice. Feels good to be working out again. I've also discovered that I can regulate my sleeping pretty well with melatonin. So life is overall more pleasant ( Read more... ) -
Riot Tuesday
Reports say there is extensive rioting in and around London. It appears to be rooted in urban poverty, rather than race or religion specifically, though one report I heard identified the triggering incident as a protest against police violence. In any case, stay away from London for now.

Thundercats Friday
So Cartoon Network is running a remake of the Thundercats. I used to love the 80's show as a kid, though I couldn't remember much about it other than the names of the characters, and that there are hilarious NSFW voice actor outtakes floating around the internet. Captain Friday
The Captain America movie was surprisingly good. What with Thor and X-Men: First Class earlier this summer, it would seem that Marvel has finally gotten consistent with making fun movies. I look forward to the Avengers movie next summer. -
Food Monday
Had a lovely weekend in which I met with aghrivaine and pyr8queen at their home and assisted in the former's attempt to make many of Anthony Bourdain's recipes. I also made cookies, and was successful in the board game "7 Wonders." Cars Friday
Recently I watched that Pixar flick, "Cars." I can see why it is the least-loved by critics. I can also see how great the merchandising based on it must be.
Richard Dawkins is insensitive at best, and a hypocrite at worst. Which is a shame, given how cogent his writings on religion are. -
Party Saturday
Yesterday the lovely thelastmehina and I hosted a combination housewarming party and joint birthday party. We had about 15 guests, most of whom were friends from the Dying Kingdoms LARP group. Special thanks to Jonathan and Ana, Alex, and aghrivaine and pyr8queen for their very thoughtful gifts, and thanks to everyone who came and contributed to the general mirth. -
