I use Wordpress and I love the way they block spam. It goes right into your spam box, with very few slipping through at all.

Adding the Captcha helps. Also, you can report the Russian spambot names to LJ and they delete the accounts. Russian bot stuff happens in waves....a bunch of people will get it in one month, then we might not see it again for months or a year. I mark those replies as spam and block them from commenting on my LJ and they move on.

I have Captcha activated for all anonymous posts, which are the current problem. They're not actually bots but live people posting without logging in, so that's what's getting screened. Unfortunately they're still multiplying and there's no way to block them entirely.

Unless you want to set it to members only. Leave out anonymous posting entirely.

My comment is not anonymous. I just hope that you will consider my query about my China-American novel, and will not reject it just because it has only 67,000 words. Best wishes, Giora
