I am soooo exhausted (and officially not married! yay!)

Yesterday morning I got up at 6:00am, got dressed, and biked to the station with Rick. In the rain. Fun. He was on his way to work, and I was on my way to Amsterdam, where I was on a mission to get an "Affadavit of Civil Status" from the folks at the American Embassy or Consulate or whatever it was. Amazingly, I found the building with very little ( Read more... )

... I hung on for dear life, tried to keep my feet out of the way of the pedals, and winced in pain every time we went over a bump (I now have a roughly rectangular bruise on my ass)...

You haven't done it often enough yet; you'll get the hang of it and in no time at all your ass will be toughened up too *grin*
My friends and I spent half the time like that, either she biking and me hopping on the back or the other way around.
Glad to see you're enjoying yourself here though!!

Would you still feel like meeting up with me and others maybe? I've got the time to myself after next week... however ladyvox will be in the USA untill August sometime so we could set a date when she gets back if you prefer her to be there too :) ...

I would definitely love to meet up with you!! I have a very flexible schedule until school starts in September, so whenever you have time is good for me (though during the week is better, since Rick and I have been filling up the weekends with getting settled in together and running errands and such). We're going to take a short trip to Keulen sometime during the next month, but otherwise no big plans. :)

Oh, and it's good to know that my backside will eventually get used to riding on the back of the bicycle... that was pretty uncomfortable! ;-)

That consulate ivo June 25 2004, 12:00:13 UTC
I know that Consulate.

I know that Consulate way to well...

I've been denied a US Visa twice at that Consulate. And they make you wait hours and hours before your number is called. And there's no public bathrooms inside. And if you leave the building, you forfeit your spot, and most likely you cannot get back in.

I hate that Consulate.

Thanks! :) And I'd love to meet sometime-- I was thinking about y'all when I was wandering around Amsterdam the other day, and hope that everything is going great with little Lucie! :)

You should go and visit the Escher museum in Den Haag some time! It's well worth it!

Oooooh, cool! I am so fascinated by him, especially now that I have been reading all about his life and his development as an artist. Sounds like a trip to Den Haag is in order... :)
