Urgh, I've been called four times in the past hour by four different people, all wrong numbers. I keep jumping up to answer the phone (which I hate doing anyway-- I always feel so ridiculous chirping "met Megan!"), when I need to be writing a paper. Stop calling, people

If it makes you feel any better, in Spain people answer the phone «¡Dígame!» (tell me), so that's how I normally answer it in Spanish. And people elsewhere think that's really rude. Including my boss when she pages me.

Don't you just love that phrase, 'verkeerd verbonden'? Not 'I misdialled' but 'They connected me wrong!' I know it dates back to the switchboard era, but still.

Hey, is it okay if I add you? I did an exchange year in NL when I was in highschool (2000-2001) and I'm a dork so I adore reading about other internationals living in NL. And I'm thinking about going to Leiden Uni in a year or two... we'll see about that ,but anyway, let me know.
