I love that you get organic produce at home there. We have that here, too, but it's very slowly catching on as people still want to go grocery shopping weekly just to have their produce rot on them by the time they use it. I'm jealous of your mini grain mill! That would be really neat to have here, but I'm not sure if it would work well in an apartment?

I'm a firm believer than anyone can learn to cook, as long as they have some free time and some decent instructions (or better yet, someone who knows what they're doing to show them). I totally sucked at cooking when I first started, since I never bothered to take an interest in it when I still lived at home. I couldn't chop vegetables without cutting my fingers, had no clue how to pick out produce at the grocery store, was constantly over/undercooking everything, and basically had no idea what I was doing in the kitchen. If I can learn it, so can you!
I really recommend this website called All Recipes (http://allrecipes.com/). They have bazillions of recipes, all of which you can rate and comment on. Almost everything I've tried with 4-5 stars has been good, especially since you have the benefit of comments and suggestions from other users-- stuff like "too salty, try using 1/2 tsp less salt" or "I made it the second time with wine instead of chicken ( ... )
