Facebook...

In the last week I have apparently added just enough friends from the old CAW crew that I'm now getting everyone who was associated with CAW in my "People you may know" list. It's sparking some discomfort and some "need to get over it" feelings.

On the one hand, I celebrate and honor the old positive energy that was part of CAW. But I fear the old ( Read more... )

Add me? (If you havent' already...associating names and user handles isn't always my strong suit.) :)
I'm becoming less anti-facebook it seems (shudders...like I need to lose myself to another social networking site). :)

I vastly prefer Facebook to Myspace and I've pretty much abandoned the latter for the former.

I'm here (this is my main place), on Facebook and on LinkedIn. I only link business on LinkedIn, though, and keep that strictly separate from LJ and FB.

Are you previously connected to Gaius? I remember him, too, in addition to Open. Open I met at a CAW event, and Gaius at an event in KY. Come to think of it--this would be about 2000--we might have met as well.

That reminds me of some of the feelings I've had with FB, being just one or two steps (or sometimes just an "approve this friend?") away from parts of my life I'm not entirely eager to revisit. It seems like it could be a hindrance to moving forward to new and better parts of life.

That's why I have avoided Facebook and probably always will. I just don't want to relive the past (positive or negative parts) and somehow I feel like that's what that site's about.

I worked out my situation with facebook by friending those people I still enjoyed associating with here. On the other hand, I simply don't accept friend requests from those I recall as being drama addicts. Maybe they've changed, but I would always worry that an explosion was about to happen and I simply don't have energy to expend on such.

Whatever choice you make, it will be right for you.

That's fine by me or it is can be my digs sometime too, particularly if you want to take me up on the massage I promised you. Otherwise I think I'm gonna go to French Friday in NN and then head your way.
