I too enjoy Bradley's beard (though I sometimes take issue with his length), so it was cool to draw him with one as Arthur. Also, my first attempt at a scar, so glad it looks real.
Before I put the hair in, she was actually holding his hand in place where it had her head cupped, but now that it's covered I think any interp will work.
You're right! It is his cloak--I didn't put detail into the stitches, so I guess that's why it could also pass as a Pendragon blanket ;). I also drew this before I read the book, thus didn't realize the fallacy of him have a piece of his clothing while traveling. Oh well...artistic license!
Anyway, I'm sooooo glad you liked it. It was a pleasure to work on it, and the prompts you provided were so much fun!

Interesting to know about the hands under the hair, I like 'behind the scenes' tidbits like that.
Surprised you did not go crazy with my list of prompts. I guess I was being slightly cheeky. In my defence Merlin_Santa said try and be specific.
When I came up with 'Time Traveller’s Wife vs Merlin' I only used it as a bit-sized reference.
I had come-up with what I thought was an original idea. King Arthur accidentally coming back in time and meet Gwen before they were married, Gwen not recognising this man but found him familiar and was attracted to him.
I was so smug with my ‘original idea’ only to realise it had been done already. I ramble to say that it doesn’t matter that you drew in a piece of clothing that he should not have because even though it’s it ‘The Time Travellers Wife’ it isn’t really ‘The Time Travellers Wife’

I particularly love their somber expression as he fades away. Makes the story presented more heartbreaking. I can't even express how much I am amazed at the emotion in Arthur's eyes. It's amazing how you could convey such intense emotions in a stilled portrait.
Would you mind if I put this over at tumblr? (I put their the things that I see as possible inspirations or just simply stunning artwork) I will credit you, of course. ♥
